Troma

So, anyone here a fan of TROMA, America's oldest independent film studio? Personally, I love their stuff, but for those who don't know, TROMA makes low-budget horror/comedies. Below is a list of the Troma DVDs that represent the best the studio has to offer.

Terror Firmer-Think Scary Movie. This one has the Troma gang taking a nice long laugh at themselves. You won't get some of the jokes in this one unless you are a Troma fan.

SGT. Kabukiman, NYPD-Troma's attempt to cash in on the Tim Burton BATMAN craze and make a more family-friendly superhero. Hilarity ensues.

Class of Nuke Em High- Classic 80s teen movie. Think Breakfast Club meets ALIENS. This one helped put Troma on the map.

Surf Nazis Must Die- Troma's best take on the post-apocalyptic adventure movie. This one is actually pretty good, and rises above the cheese to deliver good old fashioned action.

Cannibal! The Musical- South Park fans will recognize Trey and Matt in this one. Before hitting it big, these two worked for TROMA, and the humor that they bring to their show really is simliar to TROMA. In this flick, they tell the story of Alfred Packer, a frontiersman convicted of cannibalism. And yes, it is a musical.

Tromeo and Juliet- Bill Shakespeare gets Tromatized in this instant classic. Truly great stuff.

The Toxic Avenger- Troma's bread and butter. This flick made Troma a household name in the 80s, and is a major influence on everyone from Tarantino to Eli Roth. Come and see the magic.

Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger Part 4- After two shitty sequels, Troma hits it out of the park with this one. More gore, more nudity, guest stars galore, great action, hilarious jokes. Great stuff. And, you don't have to have seen Toxie parts 2 and 3 to enjoy it!!! Guest appearances by Lemmy from Motorhead, Eli Roth, and Ron Jeremy as the Mayor.

So what do you guys think? Agree? Disagree? Troma flciks to add to my list?

Frostbiter.

..

No, the movie itself is absolute ****. The Chili song, though... well, it's not worth it, I just want someone else to share in my pain.

I haven't seen many. My friends are mostly Troma fans, and I'll watch the flicks when they do.

I've seen Buttcrack, Terror Firmer (unrated), and one of the Toxie movies YEARS ago. It also seems that I've seen another flick recently, but I can't remember.

I too loved the Toxie cartoon. That was quality ****. I used to have all the toys, and I'd have Toxie team up with my Ninja Turtles. Good times.

Also, Troma has a new movie coming out this summer...
Poultrygeist: Attack of the Chicken Zombies :buttrock:
