A new turn-based strategy game is headed for PCs in a couple weeks. Trials of Fire. It comes to us from Whatboy Games, a team made up of ex-employees from Rocksteady, who previously worked on Batman: Arkham Asylum.
But Trials of Fire isn’t like that game at all. The game takes place in the desolate fantasy world of Ashe, well-named for being destroyed a long time ago in some kind of cataclysm. Your heroes are determined to restore hope to the land and build a better world for their people, but in the immediate moment they just have to survive. The game takes place in an overhead perspective and combat is deck-based, with tactical positioning and a winning hand of moves bring crucial to each battle.
