Transformers: Kiss Players?

Well they have so many different TF lines, it's confusing on what to buy. They definitely put too much faith in a small fandom of Transformers Toy collectors.

I think Habro has forgotten that sometimes you have to market a toy line with a cartoon series. Why should kids buy alternators when they dont have a reason to care about them.

True enough but I think two things happened that killed the Alternators line.

One, the actual toys themselves got boring real quick. Aside from the Trax mold, most of them have the same transformation and said transformation is a real pain.

Two, Takara screwed them twice, once with the Dodge truck as Convoy which was a mistake and two, people were heavily interested in and importing the Binaltech line from Japan until the line became Kiss Play and that killed most of the US interest in the line.

You know what's ironic? While people over here were importing BTs, people in Japan were importing Alts. There was an interview with the main BT/Alt designer (the same guy who did the Autobot Bros. in RiD). He mentioned that many Japanese fans were importing Alts, due to the cheaper price. Apparently the whole diecast thing isn't nearly as popular among Japanese TF fans as American ones. Kind of odd when you consider the popularity of Soul of Chogokin. I'm guessing most Japanese TF fans like playing with their stuff more. lol
