Humans possess some of the rarest eye colors among living creatures. Some say that the eyes are the mirror of the soul, others call it the windows of our dreams. What are the top five rarest eye colors and what do they say about our souls or dreams? According to the Optical Academy, “The rarest eye colors are red and violet, which are primarily found in individuals with albinism. Excluding those affected by albinism, green and gray eyes are considered the most uncommon.” However rare the eye color is, people steer in them for different reasons. Some believe that the eyes reflect every emotion and desire our heart feels. They brighten when we feel hope or joy, darken when we feel despair and sadness, and fill with tears whenever these emotions overwhelm us. Another popular belief is that upon meeting someone, our mind subconsciously creates a mental inventory of the physical attributes of the person. Hair, nose, lips, and of course the eyes. Attractive eye colors will captivate you more than their shapes. A recent survey conducted by Contacts Direct showed that people consider some eye colors as being more attractive than others. One thing these survey results have in […]

Elizabeth Taylor is the only person I know who have Violet eyes. Most red eyed people I saw have albinism

I’ve always been fascinated by eye colors! It’s crazy to think that violet eyes are linked to albinism and are so rare. I mean, I’ve seen photos of people with these deep, violet hues, and they always leave me in awe. On the other hand, it’s sad how many people with these rare colors also struggle with health conditions. I didn’t know black eyes weren’t even a real thing! I always thought they were just really dark brown eyes. I guess it makes sense, though, when you break down how irises work. As someone with blue eyes, I feel a little proud to see it ranked as one of the rarest—just 8% of the world’s population has blue eyes, according to some studies. It makes me want to rock my eye color even more!

The whole “red or pink eyes” thing? Yikes, that’s a little freaky! I get that it’s rare, but imagine meeting someone with those eyes in person. Honestly, I’d be terrified. I don’t know how I feel about these eye colors being linked to certain conditions either. It just makes me feel like these people might be dealing with way more than just something “cool” or “rare.” I guess there’s a reason why green and blue eyes get all the attention—they’re just more pleasant to look at.

I didn’t realize how much of an obsession people have with rare eye colors. The whole “green and blue eyes are the most attractive” thing seems a bit overhyped. I get that they’re rare and cool, but I don’t think it should dictate what people find attractive. Everyone has their preferences, and some of the more common eye colors can be just as mesmerizing. Honestly, I think that the story behind each person’s eyes is what makes them interesting—not just the color. Take my grandpa, for example—he has the most vivid gray eyes, and that’s not something you see every day. I’m more about the personality than anything else.

I have dark brown eyes, which are pretty common, but I’ve always felt like there’s something special about them. I mean, they’re not as rare as green or amber eyes, but I think they have a richness that’s just as beautiful. I get that people are fascinated by rare eye colors like violet or red, but I honestly don’t see the appeal. Brown eyes are warm and comforting, and they can express so much. I’ve always felt that the depth of a person’s eyes, no matter the color, tells a story—something that’s beyond just the shade. Plus, my eyes don’t have any health complications attached to them, so I consider that a bonus! People often say brown eyes are too “normal,” but I think that’s what makes them so relatable. We see them everywhere, and they’re kind of like a universal symbol of warmth and trust. I wouldn’t trade my dark brown eyes for anything else, honestly.
