Seeing as how Toku HK DVDs are so hard to find, I figured I'd try and buy them from Tokusatoudvd.com they got a pretty good selection too. So now, my question is: Just how reliable is the site?

I ordered from the site twice already and was very happy. Sometimes it does take a couple of weeks if you place a large order depending on how many other orders are ahead of yours.

I've used once and it was fast and reliable. ...And for the price/s , you can't beat it. :buttrock:

They are pretty reliable, but don't expect anything fancy they are burned DVD-R's in paper DVD slips.

Toku stuff is hard to find, and ones I can find, go for like 60-70 dollars, so at this point I'm pretty deseperate.

Are there any other web sites where I can order Toku HKs from?

I've seen DVDs on CD Japan, I really can't say what kind of a selection they have. They have all of KR Hibiki(which I love and will buy), but like previously mentioned, about $60.00. Unfortunately, the only other place I have seen, is... Toys and Joys. I know, evil, but they are the only other place I see with cheep DVDs. I wouldn't buy from them, but, just throwing this place out there.

CDJapan has just about every Sentai DVD released, LOL. I say just about because there's a volume of Dekaranger that's now "out of print" and can't be bought from them. *sigh*. But CDJapan are R2 DVDs not bootlegs and the cost per DVD volume is $40-90.

As for bootlegs with covers and art work, good luck if that's what you want. I think only yhr HK sellers do artwork with cases. The fact is even with artwork and cases it's still a bootleg, so why would anyone want to pay $20-50 more for artwork and cases? That's just silly. :P

CDJapan is a good site to buy from. You just have to sometimes type the titles differently. Amazon.co.jp is an excellent site. You have to type in katana, but you can copy and paste from Wikipedia articles about the Toku series you want. Also, you can click a link that allows you to see the page in English. It only makes the ordering part English, but is helps.

If you really do want bootlegs, VideoDaikaiju.com is great site with people who are friendly and answer your questions. However, I don't really believe in bootlegs, since it's stealing from the company that spent money on the show, and can used the profits to continue making more of those shows. Not a financially rewarding view, I know, but it works for me. :)

Meh, I don't have the patience to keep up with single volumes, nor do I have the budget and quite frankly, I refuse to fork over 30 bucks if all I'm getting is 4, or 3 episodes. That's the only reason why I buy bootlegs

Thanks for starting this thread. It was interesting to see this site. Like you, my budget currently only allows for bootlegs, since the 70's era shows that I collect are just insanely priced from Japan. Now if we could get more domestic release sets like Kamen Rider V3 and Kikaida / 01 (all of which I have purchased to support the US release), then that would be fantastic. In the meantime, we only have two options - Japan release or bootlegs.

However, I can't justify paying some bootlegger $99 for 16 discs that he just burned on his computer (Kamen Rider Original series set). I don't have any problems paying someone a reasonable amount for their time spent burning discs, but that price is ridiculous.

Can anyone direct me to any other sites that are more reasonable or to other fans who might be willing to burn me copies of 70's era shows for a reasonable fee?

Thanks :buttrock:
