Strange how when Japan tried making their own TMNT stuff it isn't all that great but when they dub our TMNT they made it look twice as awesome for some reason :eyebrow:

Nope, I wish I did too, I only found them on Youtube.
And about the OVA, the reasons behind its quirkiness was that it already was based on the more comedic 80s-90s series and thus being based on a Japanese dub of a Western cartoon, it really shows the oddness that are cultural translations. Throw in the fact that they were all really just to advertise more toys, and you get a very unusual rendition of TMNT that's half confusing plot, half unusual translation and all marketing ploy.
It's not bad really IMO, but it is obviously weird sounding to hear references about Pizza, Turtle Shells, New York and New York locations and completely english names in the midst of over the top Japanese voice acting.
