As the photo above might suggest, someone’s having a bad time on the latest episode of 7th Prince, aka I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince so I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability. The episode, titled “The Church’s Secret.” went live at 9:30 Pacific this morning. In the episode, “Babylon helps Escher and the others escape, and despite sensing an insurmountable gap in strength when fighting the mysterious priest, he battles on, betting it all on the vaguest hope.” So why’s Escher…in such a mood? She feels bad for leaving the Father at the adventurer’s guild, which leaves her tormented by feelings of powerlessness. She heads back to the church out of concern for Babylon, and “eyes overflowing with tears, she has an unexpected encounter…” Crunchyroll teases. 7th Prince takes place in a world full of magic, but getting to use it requires a lot of studying AND being genetically lucky enough to be born in a magically inclined bloodline. One sorcerer has a passion for magic but never had the aptitude for it nor the genes to be truly powerful. But as luck would have it, in his next life he has become Lloyd, the seventh prince of […]

This episode really made me pause and think about Escher’s role. I know Lloyd is the main character, but Escher showed a lot of emotional depth here. Her guilt about leaving the Father really shows how much she cares, even though she doesn’t have the same magical strength as the others. I like that the series doesn’t just focus on power levels or flashy spells but also on how characters deal with failure or regret. Her tears weren’t just for Babylon; I think she was crying because she feels useless. That hits hard. Not every show gives that space for side characters to feel real emotions. I really respect how the story gives time for her to grow too.

Yo, this episode got me stressed! Escher’s crying, Babylon’s fighting someone he can’t beat, and Lloyd wasn’t even there yet to save the day. I don’t care what people say, 7th Prince is getting really good. I like when it’s not just Lloyd fixing everything. Escher going back to the church? That’s brave. And I want to know who she met there! Was it the priest again? Someone new? Man, Crunchyroll knows how to keep us waiting.

I appreciate the latest developments in the series. The 17th episode demonstrates that even in a magical world, emotions and human flaws are present. Escher’s sadness and guilt were believable. She is not just a background character anymore. The story is starting to show that even characters without strong magic can affect the plot. Babylon’s battle, although hopeless, reflects a deep loyalty to his comrades. I am hoping the show continues to build on these emotional foundations. It is not just about Lloyd’s magical progress; it is also about how others deal with their own limits.

So Escher’s crying again. That’s what we’re doing now? Listen, I get she feels bad about leaving the priest behind, but seriously, this show is starting to feel like an emotional rollercoaster without brakes. I didn’t sign up for tears; I came for spells and explosions. That said, I admit the “unexpected encounter” line caught my eye. If that turns out to be just a conversation and not something plot-changing, I’m gonna be annoyed.
