The Way of The Samurai

I want to awaken the samurai within me, to get ready for the New Sentai. So to do that I need help from the Sword Experts on HJU.

I've never seen any samurai movies or anything..but i did see some in the boondocks Season 1 episode "Grandad's Fight". and that was kicka$$ scene.

I also used to watch Ruroni Kenshin(how do i remember that? :eyebrow: when i was little. But it's pretty vague in my mind now.

So everyone tell me what you know about the samurai. *bows*

Definately check out Seven Samurai, it's an amazing movie. But if you're not into black and white films, check out the anime adaptation, Samurai 7. Samurai 7 is done more in the vein of steampunk, but it's great.

Just to give you some back story on the film and anime, Samurai Seven is about a group of farmers that are being bullied by a group of bandits, and eventually, they tire of the bandits and go to the city to find samurai to aid thier cause. But seeming it's the end of that period, samurai have lost their code of bushido, and don't really care about what happens to anyone but themselves. Luckily they find their first samurai, Kambei, who decides to aid the villagers, but he tells them that they need to find six other samurai to aid the village, and it just takes off from there.

It's an amazing film and anime series, and if you want to invoke the samurai within, totally check those out. Samurai Seven is arguably the best samurai film to date. Also, if you do like the movie, which you will, lol, check out Akira Kurosawa's other films as well.

Oh yea, that was such a great anime. I saw mine on the IFC channel back when they were airing it. I've been trying Veoh, but I can't seem to find it there. You might want to try Crunchyroll, they should have it there.

Looks to be it right there. I was hoping Crunchyroll would have it though, oh well. :disappoin But yea, I'm downloading Seven Samurai as we speak, so I'll have a download link later for everyone that wants to see it.

And anyway, to add to the more samurai themed stuff, if you have a Playstation 2, there was a series of games, The Way of the Samurai, which I'm pretty sure you named the thread after, but if you haven't checked them out yet, do so, because they are amazing.
