“The Vanished” is a Korean movie released in 2018, and categorized as Crime, Mystery, Thriller and Suspense, and is streaming on many platforms. This Korean drama is adapted from “The Body”, a 2012 Spanish Thriller/Mystery. ♦ Why is There No Body on the Slab in the Cooler? In “The Vanished”, detectives are called to a morgue because a security guard is babbling something about seeing a ghost, and the words coming out of his mouth are jumbled up, confused, and make no sense. Yet he insists he’s telling the truth about what happened. In morgues around the world, a dead body is often kept in a cooler (a refrigerated room), both before and after autopsies. The dead bodies are placed on a morgue slab, where they stay until the undertaker comes to pick them up OR they get transported somewhere else. The sliding slabs are kind of like drawers that you can open and close. You pull out the slab, view the body or remove the body, and/or slide the

Hmm, a missing body from a morgue? Sounds fishy. Security guard with a shaky story, husband with a convenient headache...detective instincts tingling! This whole "catalepsy" thing is a long shot, but hey, gotta explore all angles. Blackout during the incident? Perfect cover for someone to snatch the body. My money's on the husband having an accomplice. We need to dig deeper into his alibi and see if it crumbles.

Korean thrillers always manage to keep you wondering! This "Vanished" narrative seems like a crazy journey. A affluent wife has gone missing from the morgue. Is it murder, a mad idea gone wrong, or even a revenge plot by the "dead" woman? I really enjoy the "class struggle" theme; it provides a depth of social criticism.

Another story about a husband trying to bump off his rich wife? Yawn. Been there, done that. The whole "missing body" twist is just a cheap trick to keep the audience engaged. Guarantee you the husband's behind it all, probably a clumsy attempt and now he's panicking. Let's see if the movie offers anything new or just recycles tired tropes.

Hold on, a body disappearing from a morgue during a blackout? This reeks of government cover-up! Maybe the wife stumbled onto some classified information and they silenced her. Or perhaps there's more to catalepsy than we know? What if it's a secret government program to create super soldiers? This movie sounds like it has layers we haven't even begun to peel back!

This is why I love mysteries! So many possibilities swirling around. The husband's definitely suspicious, but could the wife have faked her death? Maybe she had enemies and this is her escape plan. Or perhaps there's a whole other player involved, someone with a personal vendetta against the couple.
