The tide comes in - Johns to pen Aquaman series

[Blue Saint]

Perhaps the biggest news to come out of MegaCon that doesn't mention is Rob Granito is the announcement that following Brightest Day Aquaman is to get his seventh series. More or less seen as inevitable though Johns is now firmly attached. There was some speculation about writer for the book, my personal guess was Tony Bedard. As of this moment no artist is named for project nor whether the book will be an ongoing or not. Also whether this announcement has anything to do with hinted Adventure revamp is also still unknown.

I shall call it "Megacon and the Grand Announcement!"

Johns seems to like taking Silver Age ideas and then making a horror comic with them. So on the bright side, Aquaman would likely have his family and his hand back. On the downside BlackManta will be DCU psychotic gore-fiend criminal no. 97138.

Update: The art seems to be Ivan Reis and Joe Prado, both whom recently drew Aquaman in Brightest Day. Also it seems the title will be an ongoing. While no release day is mentioned I doubt we will see it until after Flashpoint.
