Batman will always be with us, and so there will always be Batman movies…but with each reboot, it gets harder and harder to keep the same setup “fresh.” This latest attempt, with Robert Pattinson under the cowl as “THE BATMAN,” doesn’t seem to give us anything we haven’t already seen.
This second trailer, released this morning, is called “The Bat And The Cat” because it focuses on Catwoman, played by Zoe Kravitz. You’ll never guess what she does: she flirts with both Bruce and Bats, she somersaults off the tops of buildings, and she says lots of cat-related one-liners. Yup. I don’t know what I can add to that description. It’s simply the basic Catwoman again.
The Batman’s villain is also revealed in this trailer: The Riddler, played by Paul Dano. They have weirdly chosen to give him a mask that he speaks all his menacing lines through, making him sound foggy like Bane did in the disappointing “Rise of the Dark Knight.” His cryptic messages don’t seem to be targeted at Batman...
