Here's another piece of Korean Television for ya!!
Erm.. Are you saying (for example) that godawful Korean Maskman Opening and that squeaky Flashman Opening is meant to appeal to Korean audiances?
Sorry if I sound like I don't get what you're talking about..
Oh, and would it also be worth mentioning the budget? I'm predicting the Korean Maskman dub was very low budget, which may explain the dodginess of the theme tune.
Obviously subtly and tact completely missed the target here, so I'll be blunt. First, that "godawful" Korean Maskman Opening and "squeaky" Flashman Opening wouldn't have been made if it didn't appeal to Korean audiences. No, Koreans are so completely blind and oblivious to marketing and consumer's expectations and wants that they'd put out a franchise which is bound to make them (and their audience's/ viewership's proverbial ears and eyes) run screaming for the hills of Mount Baekdu.
That "godawful" attribution you make about the description simply circumvents the point. First it was awful Korean Dubs. Ok, fine, I'll concede that dubs can be bad - as in, the voices sound dead, they don't seem to fit the character, etc. Millions of reasons why a dub is bad. Of course, the VA could just simply suck or not get into the character. Then it was saying that those Sentai OPs were "low budget" and "could they be appealing to Korean audiences" underlines your following assumptions.
1) You've already equated the fact that such an opening is so starkly different from the Japanese OP, and since you can't possibly fathom how THAT is supposed to appeal to Korean audiences, you've simply written it off as "it's badness must be due to the low budget."
2) And if that "godawful" Maskman and Flashman OP/themes DO actually appeal to Korean audiences, are you going to say that Koreans don't have any taste? That OP/ Theme is only "godawful" to you, and that's fine. You're entitled to your opinion, but when you make blanket statements or ask questions that really display your lack of knowledge about the culture, people, all you're doing is making yourself look that much more ignorant.
Do you see how ignorant your assumptions are making you sound? What I was asking politely for you in my previous post was to be considerate to others. Statements such as the ones you've made above might not seem all that significant to you. Afterall, it's just a forum and we're just talking about one's opinions about a well-known franchise. But when you post, your comments always sound like, "eww look at this! Another
piece of Korean Television. Look at how baadly they do it!!!1111!!!" Also, maybe if you actually understood the language, you'd find that hey, that song just happens to be a translation of the lyrics of the original songs sung by the Japanese Sentai greats as Kageyama Hironobu and Kitahara Taku. Of course, singing of sentai songs in kid's chorus' can't possibly compare to the former. :rolleyes2:
Rider Faiz: I wasn't directing any of that to you. That song got stuck in my head as well. :redface2:
