I understand his standpoint, also, you must consider that there are Parental groups and stuff that may oppose thus the changes.
“Well, in past instalments like Hurricanger there have been deaths of good characters to add to the drama. But those deaths have been taken to heart by our young viewers so much that right now we are trying to avoid it. Personally I think there‘s enough bad things happening in the world, so at least in the Super Sentai series we want to stick to a more idealized world without dying heroes.” "
If he's staying that due to these deaths, younger children are getting hit hard emotionally about it. We don't need to have 8 year olds crying and stuff because their favorite character died. Children shows are aimed to show that the hero always wins and will always come out victorious. How the good guy always gets the girl in the end.
And he is right, there are too many problems in our world to day to idolize the aspects of death in a children show. Like he said, Super Sentai is usually the first TV drama a young child watches in Japan -- Super Sentai has a vast influence on Japanese culture and its future.
I agree with his methods in regards to that. For his choice of annoying reds and cute girls, not so much; but in regards to death and extreme violence in a kids show? I totally agree.
