Animation legend Hayao Miyazaki has just released what he claims is his final animated feature….and I know a lot of you are scoffing right now because he’s said that before. Ol’ Hayao has a history of “retiring” and coming back. But think about this…inevitably, one of his movies WILL be his final movie someday. Maybe it IS this one? In that case, wouldn’t you feel shame for mocking him?

So, like, Miyazaki decided to do zero marketing for this movie in Japan. Nada, zip, nothing! Just a heron drawing and a title. I mean, that's kinda bold, right? Would you buy a ticket just to find out what's up?

You know, it's kind of like Miyazaki's the Peter Pan of animation, never wanting to grow up and retire for real. But hey, who can blame him? His movies are pure magic, and I'll keep watching as long as he keeps making them. Can't wait to see if this is really his final masterpiece.

The works of Miyazaki are like animated treasures. ? Even without all the flashy marketing, I'm on board to watch this masterpiece. And you're right, the animation looks incredibly smooth. Seven years in the making? That's some serious dedication and love poured into this project. Can't wait to see the magic unfold on screen!

You know, the animation style of Ghibli characters is absolutely amazing. They have this timeless and iconic look that's hard to beat. ? Unlike many who grew up on Disney Princesses, I was raised on Studio Ghibli films. My parents believed in them because Ghibli really knows how to create strong and relatable female characters. ?

But now, they're taking on a new challenge with a male protagonist. It's a big shift because Ghibli is renowned for its remarkable female characters. ?‍♀️ However, I have faith that they'll do justice to this new character. After all, Ghibli's storytelling and animation are always on point. Can't wait to see what they've crafted this time! ??

,Seriously, Miyazaki, you keep saying it's your last film, but we know you can't resist the magic of animation. ? It's like when your favorite band claims their farewell tour for the fifth time. But hey, maybe this time, it's the real deal. If it is, I'll feel kinda bad for all the eye-rolls and skepticism

Miyazaki might not have total control over how his movies are marketed internationally, but that's the beauty of art—it evolves and takes on new forms. It's like letting your best friend style your outfit; it might not be what you expected, but it's a fresh perspective. And hey, it's still a Miyazaki creation

Miyazaki's legacy in animation is unshakeable. ? He's like that rock band from your parents' era that never goes out of style. Even if this isn't his final film, we've got to appreciate the creativity and imagination he's brought to our screens over the years. Legends like him are timeless.
