It might be a little confusing w/o first having read the previous Green Lantern series arcs.

You're better off just reading Rebirth and the Sinestro Corps War to understand somewhat behind the whole Blackest Night arc.

I suggest you also read the Secret Origins arc from Green Lantern as it explains everything from Black Hand to Atrocitus. Then follow it up to Rage of the Red Lanterns.
