Side quests in Final Fantasy are often where the real magic happens. They flesh out characters, enhance the world-building, and sometimes deliver unforgettable emotional moments. Take FFVII's "Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier" side quest or IX's "Cleyra's Trunk" quest, both are such great examples of how additional story can pull you deeper into the universe.

I'm curious to know what everyone thinks are the best side quests across the series! Do you have a favorite that made you laugh, cry, or just left you in awe? I'd say the "Tales of the Abyss" quest in Final Fantasy X has to be my personal top pick, it captures the essence of Yuna's journey so beautifully and provides closure to certain characters.

Let's hear your thoughts! Which side quests do you think truly stand out, and why?

I completely agree that side quests are where the emotional depth of the games really shines! For me, the "Aeris's Last Words" quest in FFVII is unforgettable. That moment hits you like a truck, especially when you realize the full weight of Aerith's sacrifice. It's such a beautifully tragic moment, and the music just adds to the tear-jerking atmosphere!

Also, I absolutely loved the "Tales of the Abyss" quest you mentioned in FFX! Yuna's growth throughout the game really comes to fruition there, and it just gives that extra layer of depth to her character.

What do you all think about the side quests in the newer titles? I'm curious how they'll compare to the classics when we get the next big release!
