Which racing series are you, my fellow HJU members, are into?

I like some open-wheel racing, mainly the IndyCar series and the Indianapolis 500, and a NASCAR fanatic.

I'm a huge IndyCar and F1 fan I also watch Nascar sometimes, but mainly I like the Open Wheel formulas and Sports Car racing.

The website for the new F2008 - love her.

I'm a big F1 fan, and used to love CART.
Now that irl and champcar merged i hope to see a championship as strong as it was back in the 90s

Open-wheel racing for me, particularly F1 and the old CART series (may it R.I.P.). To be honest, I'm bummed about the IRL/Champ Car merger in that it looks like it's going to be more IRL than Champ Car-style races that remain. I've never really liked ovals. Granted, cars racing in ovals (e.g. IRL and NASCAR/stock cars) can gain faster speeds compared to the CART and F1 cars, but even with that, I get bored watching drivers turning in ONLY one direction. Road/street courses, IMO are much more entertaining to watch because their layouts are much more diverse/complicated, which leads to drivers having to really strategize where/when/how hard they have to brake/accelerate, what line to take going into a turn, etc.

Show me a stock car that can competitively navigate the turns at Monaco or the 180-degree turn at Montreal without blowing their brakes and I might start giving them a chance.

I'm not really into NASCAR, Indy or F1. I've thought of checking out F1 this year since I've got Speed Channel but honestly I prefer Formula D and Drag Racing. Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, 18-wheelers, Tractor-pulling, diesel belching goodness, I love those the most. I'd probably have to put the impetus on me having gone to county fairs to watch my father compete with his 1934 John Deere Model B or his diesel powered Model 3020...well that and my current location is less than 6 miles from Michigan International Speedway. I always have to deal with the influx of people clogging up the one main road into town and the State Police having everything be set for one way in or out of Brooklyn to deal with the traffic. Throw in me having to work the entrance gates around Turn 4 a couple times back in High School and I've just about had it. If only it didn't bring in so much money allowed for the businesses in the area. Damn you, Capitalism! *shakes fist*
At least this year, there'll only be the NASCAR crowds in June & August since Indy and MIS management couldn't "come to terms."

anyone here into imports, particularly japanese cars?
I thought Formula D would include Japanese tuners, racers & American tuners and racers. Is there a difference?

Or perhaps it's because when I, say, watch NOPI Tunervision I may enjoy the cars but my attention gets drawn predominately towards the luscious ladies festooned alongside the cars, upon the cars, within the cars or on the stage.
