Okay. I know this is a Tokusatsu / Power Rangers board, but this is something that NEEDS to be brought to everyone's attention.

THIS is our freedom of speech being taken away. Granted, it was a stupid comment, and it shouldn't have been made, BUT TO ARREST HIM AND FORCE HIM TO FACE A TRAIL BECAUSE OF THIS?! WHY IS NO ONE OUTRAGED?!

Look at the bright side, if this was Person of Interest, the kid would already be dead. :laugh:

Although I do agree that arrest is a bit of an overreaction, there should at least be a consequence for doing things like these, because it serves as a precedent. If a real terrorist/psychopath does the exact same thing, how will we know whether the threat is real or not?

Also, unlike other instances where free speech is denied, this comment really served no purpose. It wasn't about fighting for rights, it wasn't about informing people, it wasn't about trying to promote an opinion, nor was it meant to entertain.

Like I said, in the exact same situation. A psychopath could respond the exact same way, thus having the same context, and yet be an actual threat.

Sheesh...they should've given the kid a warning for like literally saying things on-purpose. Or his parents should've been educating him about the dangers doing things on the social media, especially forums, twitter, facebook, etc.

Not everything said sarcastically is a literal threat to commit a terroristic act.
