While it sucks that you have to physically pay for the items now (most of them I think you can get from leveling up if you had bought the game before the FREE-TO-PLAY kicked in), the game is still really fun to play (could be funner if my laptop didn't lag like **** during gameplay. It's an '09 model, there's no excuse)
I'm probably most comfortable playing as the Scout, though I did enjoy playing around as The Engineer for a little while (gathering up the pieces of scrap metal to upgrade the turrets and what not got a little too tedious for me, especially when an enemy tries to take it out and you have to go and repair it)
All weapons still drop randomly, and you can get the first set of weapons from achievements. You dont need to pay to get that stuff. Paying gets you more backpack space, premium drops (hats and such) and not being hated by the rest of the community.
