"Talkcocksingsong"???? What does it mean!?!!?

Well thanks for the update. I used to play Gunbound, and whenever Singaporean people would talk I'd be like "I know that's English, but it makes no sense to me..."

To "talk cock" is to talk about meaningless rubbish that is totally irrelevant to the current subject.
I like to talkcock with my friends. It helps to ease any tension when we mention all our rubbish and crap.

You'd be surprised that majority of us Singaporeans can switch between standard English and our Singlish slang very easily especially when typing online, or communicating with tourists.

BUT

The standard of standard English is really dropping amongst youngsters, who have resorted to some weird forms of typing which is difficult to understand if you're not used to seeing it.

e.g.

moi.ish.dunch.lyk.dis.leh, can.euu.choose.sth.else?
I dUn lYK ThIS lAh, cAN ChoOsE sUmThiN eLSe Or nOt?

both which actually mean "I don't like this, can you choose something else?" I have a number of friends who type this way and it is kinda irritating you know. 2c.

Thank you.... I bow do your wisdom and knowledge. :170:

Haha. But it's only mainly for girls in Secondary schools. You should see their Friendster profiles, blogs, and other crap. Stupid font. But on MSN Messenger, they won't type this way. Too tiring, I guess. By the time they reach Junior College, most of them learn to type properly. We boys, on the other hand, never type this way.

And to raise the standard of spoken English, the Government has launched yet another campaign (in case you do not know, it's a signature move of our Government). :rolleyes2:

And I didn't know UltramanLah was a Singapore-based forum. The Lah always gave me a sense of familiarity, but I never made the connection.
