ah, well hey I don't blame you. I've been going to IGN since 1996 when they were known as IGN64. Before they branched off into other systems and venues and became huge. I'm familiar with a lot of the editors that have come and gone. There are some reviews I hate and it's easy for people to hate IGN because some of their writers/editors are opinionated and personal in their review. I think that's why they started up that whole "second opinion" deal, for the controversial reviews.
I still respect IGN as a whole because I feel like I can understand their reviews. Sometimes their reviews are harsh and you can say "whoa well if IGN gave it a 6, that probably means the game is more like a 7-7.5. Definitely worth a rent.". Stuff like that.
I also like that they added in "reader ratings". Readers and visitors can input their ratings of a game so you can gauge what the readers are saying about the game as well as the editors.
I don't know, I've always liked IGN over the other websites. They've been easier to navigate for me vs Gamespots dark backgrounds.
