Ratings are overrated anyway. I like to form my own opinions...

In fact, I tend to look at reviews AFTER I give the game a try.

Plus IGN only gives reviews to games that advertise on thier site. Thier total shills. as for pricing Both versions (DS & PS2) are gonna be $29.99

They review all games. Gaming companies advertise on their site because it's a popular website that a lot of gamers go to. Their reviews are not bought, though. I've seen them advertise games only to give it **** review later. I don't know where you get this idea that they won't review every game. Some games may have been skipped over, but none I can recall and probably because you have to remember that no one can possibly review every single game on every single system. Some will be passed over.

I meant good reviews. I was exageratting for dramatic effect but pay attention to some of IGN's specific writers for a short time and watch how fast you lose respect for anything they have to say.

ah, well hey I don't blame you. I've been going to IGN since 1996 when they were known as IGN64. Before they branched off into other systems and venues and became huge. I'm familiar with a lot of the editors that have come and gone. There are some reviews I hate and it's easy for people to hate IGN because some of their writers/editors are opinionated and personal in their review. I think that's why they started up that whole "second opinion" deal, for the controversial reviews.

I still respect IGN as a whole because I feel like I can understand their reviews. Sometimes their reviews are harsh and you can say "whoa well if IGN gave it a 6, that probably means the game is more like a 7-7.5. Definitely worth a rent.". Stuff like that.

I also like that they added in "reader ratings". Readers and visitors can input their ratings of a game so you can gauge what the readers are saying about the game as well as the editors.

I don't know, I've always liked IGN over the other websites. They've been easier to navigate for me vs Gamespots dark backgrounds.

Try reading thier Comic "Reviews" each week the things they praise a book for they'll trash it the very next issue. They'll jump on ANY bandwagon that comes along. they'll trash books without offering a reasonable opinion. and then suck up to the writers when the book becomes a hit. and when the thing they were bitching about gets changed, they'll claim the writers were listening to "THEM"

I havent stepped into their comic section. But I'll say I absolutely HATE their music section. I've disagreed with almost all of their music reviews so far, in some way. I dont think comics or music are their forte.
