Yup, this are my picks for "robot anime shows that are horrible and I have no idea why I watch them except for the fact that they are robot anime shows and yet one saving grace is that they have MAJOR AWESOME theme songs"

Japan had seen "magnetic" robots like Kotetsu Jeeg (1975) and Magnerobo Ga-Keen (1976). So Toei did a kiddified five-pilots-in-different-colors-sentai-ripoff and combined it with a robot with interchangeable magnetic parts.
MAJOR UGLY ROBOT DESIGN. And don't get me started about the stories. Lasted 31 eps.

Mazinger Z did it with much more flair.
