Starting Kamen Rider Super-1

As you may or may not know, for a while now, I have watched/endorsed Choujinki Metalder. Now that I have finished it, I'm going to try and watch another raw old school toku show: Kamen Rider Super-1. So far the show has been really good although its a little bit more harder to understand it than Metalder. The fighting scenes are the best part of the show for me.The suit design is cool. I don't know why but it reminds me of Kamen Rider Den-o suit. What makes Super-1 unique is he is the master of the five hands:castlerock:. Super-1 can change his gloves into one of five. The normal silver hands which he uses regularly and can do his rider/super punch. The Red Power hands which gives him super strength. The Blue Electric hands which allows him shoot electricity. The Green hands in which one hand shoots a freezing gust and the other which shoots flames. And finally the Gold Radar hands which shoots out a missile that helps him track enemies and people. Super-1 also has two bikes; one for the regular road and and one for off-roading. As far as I've seen, Super-1 has four Rider Kicks although a special after a Kabuto episode said that he has ten different kinds of kicks; a regular classic rider kick, a drop kick, a somersault on the ground into a rider kick , and a move in which he gives four kicks to the Kaijin in the air. I think I will like this show a lot also. I would like to thank Momotaros for posting these episodes in his thread:castlerock:.

With that, I change my avatar.

^The Ghost Story arc is in New Kamen Rider (Skyrider.)

Anyway Super-1: it's a pretty good show and watching it again recently (thanks low-price DVD seller!) has brought it up a few notches for me. It never quite reaches the brilliance of the shows that came before, but it's still an awesome ride. It's at its best in the first half, but there's still good stuff to be found later on. It has arguably the first true regular Rider villainesses, which is a big step forward, and episode #45 is downright meta.

The movie's good fun too, once you get past the confusing opening sequence with a lot of people in fur coats getting killed in the dark. It has one of the single most badass moments in Kamen Rider history, can't deny that.

Are you watching the raws? Cause I didnt think any series past Agito was suubed.

Kuuga, Black, Black RX, and V3 are all totally subbed. Amazon is subbed, somewhat, there are only a few episodes out right now and I doubt the group will finish it.

Don't think Super-1 has ever been subbed.

Anywho, I enjoyed the series well enough, and had the opportunity to watch the movie for the first time a couple of months ago. It is definitely one of my favorite shouwa movies, and it seems like something you could show to the average viewer who isn't into tokusatsu.

Are these like subs on DVD or have they been subbed? I know CK was workin on Black but I didnt know he finished it.

I watched the first 2 eps of Super-1 and thought it was really cool. Havent had time to go back and watch it but I plan to eventually. Right now Im enjoying the greatness that is the Original Kamen Rider. :castlerock:
