Got something special here. An animated cult classic from the 80s. Critics panned it for ripping off Star Wars. In all honesty, it does use some things from SW, but still does pretty damn well on it's own merit. It's also one of the first films to use both traditional animation and CG.

The movie did come out on DVD, but as far as I know, is currently out of print. Seriously, it would be insanely hard to find, at this point.

I loved this movie to death. Even without the 3D gimmick that was behind it when it first hit theaters.

And it's really not that hard to find. It's all over Ebay.

I've seen this film WAAAY back when it was on VHS. It was pretty good!

As for this film "ripping off" Star Wars, that was pretty commonplace back in the day. (That film was already the Top Dog on Campus.)

I remember this movie too. In retrospect kinda cheesy, but tons of fun.

My parents took me to see it when I was three. Wonder if they would've dared, if they hadn't thought cartoon = kid stuff.
