Star Ocean: The Last Hope has been announced for Xbox 360 with a projected release of February 19, 2009 for Japan, February 24th, 2009 for North America and April 24 for Europe. It is a prequel to the entire series, chronicling the aftermath of World War III in which humanity must find a new home to survive. The protagonist is a young man named Edge Maverick who is accompanied by a girl named Reimi Saionji. Producer Yoshinori Yamagishi revealed at the 2008 Tokyo Game Show that it will be the last in the series.

It's bad enough us Europeans are going to get shafted in that we'll be the last to get this game by two fucking months [altho we'll get Halo Wars before you Yanks!] but the fact that this is the last in the series is enough to make me weep as this is my favorite RPG series alongside Phantasy Star [and talking of which, where's my proper next-gen remakes of the classic games in the series, especially II and IV plus remakes of Gaiden and Adventure which would also tie into the series with new story elements! Screw crap like endless Sonic games and Alien Syndrome! I want my Phantasy Star remakes and sequels/prequels set in Algol, Dammit!]

As for this game, I was planning on getting a XBox 360 for the cool RPG's [is still POed with NamcoBandai as there's no chance in hell of Culdcept Saga getting a UK release and it's region locked as well like all the Atlus USA games are] but this is the icing on the cake!:castlerock:

I can't say as I like the changes made to the US release, but I am still getting SO4. I just hope this game retcons SO3.
