After the success of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man “home” trilogy, one would think a fourth movie would have been rushed into production right away. But at this point the power is all Holland’s, and he’s spent all this time pondering his future and rejecting SM4 scripts. When I signed my contract for Spider-Man, I signed a six-picture deal,” Holland is quoted as saying. “I was 18 years old. I was more excited than I’d ever been about anything ever, and for the last 10 years I have been at the beck and call of Marvel and Sony and proudly so. It’s been the best experience of my life. I’m now at a juncture where I can say ‘No,’ and now that I’ve been afforded that power I am struggling to figure out what is the right thing to do…I don’t want to make another movie for the sake of making it.” Recently, however, Holland’s been working the talk show circuit and heavily laving down hints he’s found the reason for Spider-Man 4 to exist. “I read [a script] three weeks ago and it really lit a fire in me,” Holland said on a podcast. “Zendaya and I sat down and read […]

This is the news I’ve been waiting for! Tom Holland has brought so much depth to Peter Parker, and seeing him come back after that bittersweet ending in No Way Home gives me hope for a more complex and mature story. I’m curious how Zendaya’s return fits into all this—whether MJ will remember Peter or if it’s a completely new dynamic. The fact that Holland and Zendaya are genuinely excited about the script is a great sign. If they’re on board and it gets their creative juices flowing, we’re probably in for something special.

I’ll admit, this announcement has me conflicted. On one hand, Tom Holland is a phenomenal Spider-Man who’s given the character emotional range that goes beyond the typical superhero tropes. On the other, the market is saturated with sequels and reboots. I hope that SM4 breaks the mold and doesn’t just rehash familiar themes or lean too heavily on nostalgia. The last film ended in such a powerful way—it would be a shame if this follow-up doesn’t take storytelling risks and push Peter’s character even further

I’m thrilled about Spider-Man 4 with Tom Holland, but this news has reignited my hope for something else: a third Andrew Garfield Spider-Man movie. Now that the MCU has fully embraced the multiverse, it feels like the perfect time to give Garfield’s Spidey the closure and arc he deserves. No Way Home showed how much love there still is for his version of Peter Parker, and it even hinted at his pain and growth after Gwen’s death. A standalone film could explore that darker, more mature Peter, maybe even diving into how he moves forward after reuniting with the other Spider-Men. The MCU has proven they can handle complex narratives and fan expectations—why not capitalize on that and give Garfield’s Spidey his due?

This is great news! I love that Holland took his time to find the right script. His commitment to quality makes me believe Spider-Man 4 will be more than just another superhero flick. It sounds like this one’s going to delve deeper into Peter’s personal struggles, especially after the emotional reset in No Way Home. The fact that Zendaya is back adds another layer to look forward to. Their chemistry is undeniable, and I’m interested to see how the story handles their potential reconnection

Honestly, I’m cautiously optimistic about this. The last Spider-Man movie wrapped things up in such an unconventional way, leaving Peter with a blank slate. I hope Spider-Man 4 doesn’t undermine that powerful ending by going back to old story beats just because fans miss MJ and Ned. It would be refreshing if the new script finds a way to honor that somber close while building a fresh narrative that respects Peter’s solitude and growth

The best part of this announcement is that Zendaya’s involved. I missed MJ’s presence in that heart-wrenching conclusion to No Way Home. I wonder if they’re going to bring back her memories or play with a new dynamic where Peter and MJ are starting over from scratch.

This could mark a turning point for the franchise, especially since Holland is being more selective about his roles. The fact that he’s found a script that excites him and that he’s been discussing it with Zendaya suggests this isn’t just a business decision—it’s a creative one. If the movie explores the consequences of Peter’s sacrifice and shows the emotional toll of being Spider-Man without support, we might get the most nuanced take on the character yet.

I'm so excited about this! I love superhero movies, and I think Spider-Man is one of the best. I can't wait to see what they do with the character. I hope they can live up to the hype. I'm also curious to see how this movie will connect to the other Marvel movies. I'm hoping for some cool crossover moments

OMG! Spider-Man 4 is happening?! I'm so excited! I love Tom Holland as Spider-Man. He's so cool! I can't wait to see what he does in this movie. I hope it's a good one. I'm going to see it on opening night!
