Sony to Resolve "Shortages" in May

Maybe I would've bothered to even think about buying a PS3, had they actually decided to just simply drop off their whole Blu-ray proprietary BS, including their so-called "4th dimension of graphics" and "six degrees of freedom" on their controllers. Guess what, assholes? The Wii can easily do better than THAT and it doesn't cost me an arm or a leg to buy, so suck it. Because no matter which retailer I go to, they WILL tell me that they have a good profusion of PS3's in stock (with their dreadful $600 prices intact), while I keep asking them when will their next shipments of Wii's come in, only to be replied with a blank stare.

Karma is a real bitch, ain't it, Sony? Even your marketing division here in America is starting to become the greatest laughing-stock of the entire business world.

That and the fact that they need more games to even think about keeping up my attention span.

Wait about 2 years and get your hands on a PS3 when better games will be out and they'll probably be around 200 dollars by then, a reasonable price to pay for a PS3.

Dreamcast sucks. It was good for its time. It's dead now.

Shut up and get one of those PS2 Slims that are on sale at Walmart or something...

You're just being a PS3 snob. 2 years and the PS3 will have the exact same lame-ass games that the PS2 had. Grand Theft Auto, blah blah..

Dreamcast never sucks, it may only be dead in wherever you live but not in Japan, and your sig is very weak.

I'm an avid gamer and have owned many consoles in the past and present. Personally, I think it's way to early to bury any of the new-gen consoles. For now the Wii has my preference, but if the PS3 becomes more stable, cheaper and interesting games come out on it, I might buy one as well. Sony made some slip-ups but all will depend on the kind of games that will be released in the next 2 years. But that's just my opinion ...

I strongly disagree! Since you seem to be mostly interested in the Japanese market, let's take a look. The PS2 was the best selling console by far for it's generation (not talking about handhelds). Moreover, a lot of very interesting games came out on the PS2, some even exclusively so. Just to name a few:
- Super Robot Taisen series (MX, Alpha3, Impact)
- Final Fantasy series
- Tekken series
- anime games: Naruto, One Piece, Dragon Ball, Bleach, etc
- Winning Eleven
- Power Pro Kun
- Biohazard series
- ...
And since you seem to be a tokusatsu fan, there's a plethora of tokusatsu-inspired video games on the PS2 like Kamen Rider games, Uchuu Keiji Tamashii and so on and so forth.

Dreamcast is not dead in Japan ... but it's on life-support. This year will see one new game released. I wouldn't exactly call it screaming alive and kicking.

I find it funny how you can judge other people's sig, considering yours is so pathetic and otaku-ish.:redface2: No offense, but come on

Saying the PS3 isn't being a snob, it's realistic. Saying that PS3 is currently the best system on the market would be snobbish.

But yeah, PS3 will catch it's stride in about 2 years or so.

I saw 10 of them sitting on the shelves of my Best Buy just yesterday. :anime:

The thing that sucks is that despite its recent cockups, the PS3 will eventually hit its stride and become quite the popular console. It does have a lot of potential, better games will come out, the price will go down. Eventually, it'll have its fans. People are staying away from it because they can't stand Sony, not the system. This sucks to me because my 360 might eventually get shafted by all the nooblets who go "PS3 is teh ****!!" when a year back they were all excited about the Halo 3 beta. Okay maybe I'm over-generalizing.

What I hope to see though as a result of this is Sony's ego being taken down a notch or two plus better support for Nintendo and Microsoft. It'll be really competitive now that Sony's seen what the two are capable of and no doubt they'll be pushing to win the customers over. In the end it's a winning situation for us.

Well for a start, developers are still gonna be making 2D games. Dreamcast, PS2, XBox and GameCube were totally overloaded with 2D Games, Marvel VS Capcom, Capcom VS SNK, Alien Hominid (is that how it's spellt?), Disgaea, the list goes on. It seems that 2D Games will never go away. Even if we've experienced 3D games before, we all still love to play our good old 2D games.

And there would be no need to make any 2D games for the PS3 or the XBox 360, because the Dreamcast, the PlayStation 2, the XBox and the GameCube can handle these 2D Graphics perfectly. Why anyone would want to ditch their old console for a PS3 to play games that look exactly the same let alone plays the same as it's predecessor, is completely beyond me.

Aside from that, I'm fed up of repeatedly having to buy new consoles. It's expensive, it's annoying, it takes up too much space in my room. So far I have a Sega Master System, Sega MegaDrive, Sega Saturn (which is now bust, dunno how it got bust though), Sega Dreamcast (2 even, one got bust so I brought another one), Super NES, Nintendo 64, Nintendo GameCube, GameBoy Color, GameBoy Advance, Nintendo DS, PlayStation 1, PlayStation 2, PSP, and I don't think I have enough space for any more consoles.

And even if the PS3 reduced it's price from £400 to 20p I still wouldn't buy it, I'd leave it in the bargain bin next to some unwanted controllers.

EDIT: The rest of this post has been deleted because I can't be bothered to argue about games consoles anymore.
