Snyderbros Say Superman Flopped. Box Office Says Otherwise.

This is getting old. The movie made money. It did what it needed to do. The people crying online are just mad that their favorite director didn’t return. That’s all. I watched both versions. The Snyder one looked cool, but the story was too dark. This new one? It made me feel something. I liked seeing Superman smile again. That’s not weakness. That’s strength.

If they’re this angry about Superman being nice, just imagine the chaos when Supergirl comes out next year. You already know what’s coming: They’ll call her a “Mary Sue,” they’ll complain she’s too powerful, too emotional, not emotional enough — whatever fits their outrage cycle. And if the actress isn’t blonde enough or smiles too much, that’ll be another headline for their echo chambers. These people aren’t interested in honest criticism. They’re just waiting to attack anything that doesn’t cater to their narrow idea of what a superhero should be. I’m already tired, and the movie hasn’t even come out yet.

I just looked at Rotten Tomatoes, and while the audience gave Superman a 92% rating, critics gave it an 84–85% fresh rating. That's great—they like its vigor, its appeal, its feeling. It is described as enchanting, cheerful, and when necessary, solemn. In terms of audience approval, it is currently the highest-rated DC movie ever made. That proves it was a hit with both reviewers and the general public. This indicates to me that the movie met the expectations of the audience.

If the Snyderbros want a Superman who acts cold, detached, and scary, they should honestly just watch The Boys. Homelander is right there. He’s basically what they think Superman should be — edgy, powerful, emotionless, and full of rage. But the thing is, Homelander is not a hero. He’s a warning. He shows what happens when power exists without empathy.

That’s not who Superman is supposed to be. Superman isn’t meant to rule us or scare us. He’s meant to inspire us. That’s why this new version makes more sense. He helps people. He saves lives. He’s kind. That’s strength too. Just because he smiles doesn’t mean he’s weak.

So yeah, if you want your Superman to blast people just because he can, go binge The Boys. You’ll probably love it. But leave the real Superman to people who understand what the character actually stands for.

I have read Superman comics since I was nine. So when I see people online call this new Superman “woke” or “soft,” it upsets me. They clearly don’t know the character. Superman always stood for justice, hope, and protecting everyone — not just Americans or strong men. The article is right about his history. He fought the KKK in the 1940s! He was always for the underdog. James Gunn didn’t change anything. He just reminded us of who Superman is supposed to be. The Snyder version felt cold to me. This one felt warm, human, and heroic. That’s why it worked for so many people. I liked seeing kids in Superman shirts again. They finally have a hero who saves people because it’s the right thing to do — not because it looks cool.
