Smosh Hospital Opens Its Doors Tonight

If you’ve been wondering what happened to the 2000s Internet comedy troupe Smosh, they’re still around…perhaps due to their great health care coverage. They own their own hospital! Then again, we didn’t say it was a good one. Smosh Hospital is a one-night-only, 90-minute comedy skit presentation premiering live tonight. Though we expect there to be some semblance of a plot, Smosh Hospital will be nearly entirely an improv presentation. The cast will be assigned their characters, and then “step into the ER with no script, no warning, and absolutely no medical qualifications.” If that wasn’t crazy enough, character roles will be rotated and swapped out on a random basis. Who’s playing the lead surgeon one minute may not be the one playing them the next. Smosh Hospital was envisioned as a follow-up to Smosh: The Sitcom LIVE!, taking the same improv format of that special and amping up everything about it. The cast will be larger this time, with surprise appearances and twists sprinkled throughout. The cast includes Tommy Bowe and Arasha Lalani as Doctor Boone, Courtney Miller and Shayne Topp as Nurse O’Connell, Ian Hecox and Angela Giarratana as Doctor Condo, and Olivia Sui and Trevor Evarts as […]

Hey, does anyone else remember when Anthony Padilla left Smosh to focus on his interview channel? It feels like forever ago, but now he’s back with them doing this live hospital thing. I mean, I get it—he was exploring other stuff and doing his own thing, but seeing him back in a big Smosh project is kind of surreal. And now it seems like he’s not just doing sketches but getting involved in this TV-like format with a live stream and rotating roles. I’m curious how his style from the interview content will mix with Smosh’s improv chaos. It’s almost like he’s bringing a new layer to the comedy while still reconnecting with old fans. Anyone else feel like this is a full-circle moment, seeing him come back after all these years and still being able to adapt to a completely different type of show?

I’ve been following Smosh since the very beginning, and it’s amazing to see them still trying new things. The whole idea of a hospital where no one knows what they’re doing and roles keep switching is exactly the kind of chaos I’ve loved about them since the 2000s. I don’t even care if it’s medically accurate—it’s all about seeing them react to each other in the moment. Live improv like this is hard to pull off, and honestly, I think their chemistry over the years is what makes it worth watching. I’m especially curious to see the surprise appearances. It feels like Smosh is finally embracing a style that’s more grown-up but still completely ridiculous, and I can’t wait to see which cast member ends up in the most ridiculous situation. This is exactly the sort of content that reminds me why I stuck with them all these years.

kind of crazy to think how far Smosh has come. I mean, they literally started as two teenagers making videos in their parents’ house, just messing around with cameras and a lot of silly ideas. And now here they are running a live improv show with a huge cast, surprise appearances, and streaming it like a full production. It shows how much they’ve grown, both in skill and in creativity, without really losing that goofy charm that made them popular in the first place. It’s impressive that after all these years, they’re still willing to experiment and take risks instead of just recycling old sketches. Watching them go from simple YouTube videos to this kind of live, unpredictable performance makes me appreciate all the effort and evolution they’ve gone through. It’s a reminder that even starting small, you can end up doing things you never imagined.

Smosh doing improv in a hospital setting is exactly the kind of nonsense I’ve loved from them since the 2000s. No script, no warning, random roles—it’s going to be messy and funny. I hope some of the original cast members do something completely ridiculous.

Smosh Hospital feels like pure chaos, and that’s perfect. I’m excited to see how the actors handle switching roles mid-scene. It’s going to be unpredictable, and I love that about it.

I’ve watched Smosh since their first sketches on YouTube, and this live improv sounds like the perfect way to bring back that energy. The rotating doctor roles will be hilarious to watch live.

I’m curious how they’ll manage a full hospital scenario without a script. Smosh has always thrived in chaos, so I’m expecting ridiculous situations, fast-paced jokes, and some truly strange medical “procedures.”

The improv concept with random role changes is genius because it forces them to think on their feet. I’m also curious to see how the newer cast members adapt alongside the originals. I think the hospital setting is a good choice—it’s serious enough to make the comedy absurd but also flexible for the kind of jokes Smosh does best. I plan to watch live because the energy is going to be very different from a normal video. Honestly, it could end up being a train wreck, but it’s a fun one I’ll want to see.

I’ve always loved Smosh for their humor, but this is the first time I’m nervous for them. Doing live improv with rotating roles is a lot to ask, and it could go completely sideways. At the same time, that’s what makes it interesting. The mix of old and new cast members is smart because the newer ones can bring energy while the originals carry the experience. I’m excited to see how they pull it off. If nothing else, it’ll be entertaining just to watch them scramble.

I don’t watch every Smosh video anymore, but I’m intrigued by this. The improv format with role swaps sounds like it could go either really well or really badly. I think the tension of live performance is what will make it interesting. Seeing old members like Anthony Padilla appear adds a nostalgic touch, and I’m curious how the audience will react to the unpredictability. It feels like a very Smosh-style challenge, and I’m here for it.
