Show me your Geek

I like Star Wars AND Star Trek.

Star Wars, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, Stargate, Doctor Who, Babylon 5, Lost (yeah, I'd call it sci-fi), Heroes, etc. If watching TV were an olympic sport, I'd have more gold around my neck than Mr.T.

I could also give a spur-of-the-moment lecture about why it's stupid to compare Star Trek with Star Wars, and when someone tells me too much about something I'm not interested in, I say: "Warp 10 is at the top of the New Cochrane Scale because if an object were ever to travel at Warp 10, which is impossible because it would require an infinite amount of energy, it would be travelling infinitely fast, thus occupying all points of the universe simultaneously. See what it's like when someone explains something you don't give a crap about?"

...And I'm geek enough to know that Star Trek broke Warp 10 three times while the New Cochrane Scale was in effect, but I like to think that "Where No One Has Gone Before" was written before it was decided that Warp 10 would be impossible, that "Threshold" was just B&B being retards and doesn't count, and Warp 13 in "All Good Things..." was an inside joke.

Alright time to get my geek on!

Most of the time I find myself drawing these things, Sonic the Hedgehog, Transformers, anime and some toku stuff

Note I am also a huge fan of all of them that I think I have a section of my room dedicated to them.

I'm a fan of Tranformers, been so for a long time, proof of my geekery is that considering I live in the shittest distribution area otherwise known as the UK I managed to accumulate around 170 Transformers and may I remind you I'm only 18 and have no job...sad to say I think I skipped lunch for a month to get Masterpiece Optimus Prime ^^; Also take note that our Tfs cost twice as much as they do in the US and most of mine are voyager priced TFs. I'm also taking part in the Transformers Mosaic project havng one of my comics released, ME GRIMLOCK it was and am currently working on my second one.
Also I got on the animated CRACK bandwagon and have a complete g1 DVD collection where I had to find EVERY FREAKING volume in various places across the UK from London to Leicster to Glasgow.

Been a fan of Sonic the Hedgehog for 15 years, I have made one fancomic, well one issue and I assure it ain't such an easy thing, and I'm currently in the progress of making a second one, I also have Sonic Plushies of Sonic and Tails, a metal mini statue of Sonic which for the love of me I can't find and sorely missed it, I've bought and actually liked Sonic The Hedgehog on 360 even with its bitchass loading times, most of the stuff I draw is Sonic and I have even gone as fas as make my own fancharacter, also I have a crapload of sonic songs on my ipod, I say they take up a quarter of my ipod which is the 60GB one. I also have various posters of Sonic and glass diamond paperweights in the same colours as the chaos emeralds :P

And now onto Anime, I have a 300GB hard drive filled to the brim with Anime, from robots to the cross dressing comedy, due to my poor arsedness I 've only been able to acquire a few anime and manga products, I have a revoltech Saber, a Revoltech DanBoard, A revoltech Dangaioh and Great Impact Gurren Lagann which took a bigass Drill to my Wallet. I also plan on entering the rising stars of manga this year.

I'm not much of a serious gamer but I love it nonetheless, until this year I've had all the main consoles released except for the sega saturn which kinda died out before I had enough money to get one or was aware of one actually....I was still playing my megadrive at that point. I have a wall of games and in some cases collectors editions because for the love of me its hard not to have the collectors edition (I want the damn artbook everytime!!) I also plan to get into the business as a concept artist.

Last but not least Tokusatsu well pretty much Godzilla and Kamen rider with the odd sentai/power ranger stuff. So far I have had the aim to complete all the Kamen Rider souchaku series I have collected, I'm was done with Den-o but then climax form is coming which is good but damn I thought I was complete XP I finally finished the Faiz series except for the accel mode which I have yet to find and am almost finished the Blade Souchaku series.
As for Godzilla I have quite a few knockoffs from when I was younger, a bigass but broken american godzilla toy that has kick and bite and tail action and a whole lot of VHS tapes from when I use to record the godzlla films on channel 4 since I was too young to stay up and watch them

Also on the side I'm a fan of Thunderbirds, Steam Engines and before I lost all of them to water damage a 100+ comic collection of spider man, xmen 2099, batman and various other random comics I got when a comicbook store was on a final sale.

Do I hear the words total pwnage now?

(damn I can write a lot when waiting for a damn auction to end)

Okay, I'll drop some geek on it. For starters:

I've loved superheroes from both countries since I was five and have been drawing more or less since that time. Doing more drawing is a personal goal of mine.

I can recite every single line from the first Superman movie and hum the complete theme.

I have done kareoke of the Kamen Rider Black OP complete with henshin pose and kata. It was among friends however, god bless em.

I'm the go-to guy at the store I work for any and all things comicbook or manga related. For example: "Matt, I got a customer here...do you know what a Nay-rooto is?"

Whenever I'm walking around in downtown or on one of the campuses I often find myself imagining a henshin hero fight taking place. Much of the reason for this simply being that location shooting is such a big part of tokusatsu. So even though I don't live in Japan it's easy for me to imagine that since the locations used in those shows aren't always exotic but rather everyday looking places, which helps add to the drama IMO. There's kinda the feeling that something like the Grongi or Mirror Monsters could strike from anywhere.

I got the Jack Kirby Fourth World Omnibus for my birthday and I love lines like "Those who summon the Infinity Man...summon JUSTICE!" :buttrock:

Alright, you want geek, I've got geek. Probably TMI for most, so don't click if you don't want to know about my stuffanjunk.

[HIDE]I've named my johnson "Grond" after the mace of Morgoth, from Tolkien's Silmarillion. Also applicable as the name of the battering ram used to crash the gates of Minas Tirith. Called "Grond, the Hammer of the Underworld." [/HIDE]

Uh, also, I'm rewatching the Highlander TV Series, streaming here.
