Should Nick Bring Back The Big Orange Couch?

When The Fruit Of Life Corrupts Men
While I was walking home this morning from Walgreens after procuring some Coco Pebbles and a Two liter bottle of Orange Soda, I reflected on my childhood and how much I lived for the weekend.

No school, just fun and games and cartoons and Snick

A lot has changed since those days of my youth

We're entering the 10 year anniversary of 9/11 and the war on terror is still well under way

Not to mention that the economy has gone to completely to ****

Kids have also changed, as they do with every generation.

Teen Nick came along in the wake of this, dethroned the big Orange Couch, got it's own channel, and basically left this big empty hole in the heart of the station

One that desperately needs to be filled.

So, what I'm asking is, do you think it would be a good idea on Nickelodeon's part to re-instate the SNICK block with it's current programming line up for the sake of giving kids a reason to enjoy Saturday Night again?

That would be cool. They should introduce a new genre of shows though. If PR was on Nick back in the day, it probably would of been on Snick with "Are you Afraid of the Dark" and "The Secret Life of Alex Mack", "Alan Strange" etc.

No, this and all the other "let's bring back/return to this" ideas are stupid. Honestly just let today's kids have their own childhood, stop wanting to project your past onto them. They already have it bad enough with all this 80's nostalgia being thrown at them.

This is a frustrating trait I see in nerds of all stripes, and they don't see how hypocritical they are being. We are a spoiled generation when it comes to pop culture. Due to various factors we were exposed to a wider array of pop culture objects than previous generations, and because of this wide variety we were very easily able to find properties that resonated with us giving the impression that they were made for us in particular. But now we want to rob kids of this feeling because for some reason we feel our stuff was better. I see this with cartoons, comics, toys, and video games. Just let kids have their own god damn childhoods. If you don't like what is on, don't watch. It is not meant for you anyway.

I really don't care either way about the SNICK block. Was merely a suggestion

I just think that the Saturday night slot on their channel is under used since Teen Nick left and the time slot could use a fresh coat of paint
