Should I quit using YouTube?

I don't have low self esteem.
Yes, I am now facing another hard decision, so hard which ends me up making a poll abouit it.. Like the title says, but what the heck I'll say again..

Should I quit using YouTube?

Why do I want to quit using YouTube?
Well, basically it's about their anti copyright rules. Basically they don't allow copyrighted videos and any copyrighted video found on YouTube would be deleted. Every single copyrighted video isn't allowed on YouTube, whether it's a full episode of Kamen Rider Kabuto or just a 1 minute CareBears commercial.

Recently, almost every single Morning Musume video is now extinct on YouTube, which is a blowing shame because Morning Musume are one of my favorite JPop bands, and aside from that, YouTube could've been a good resorce not only for JPop but for other foreign music too (such as this cute French girl Alizee). Of course, you're not gonna hear this stuff locally on the radio so where else to hear it apart from take a holiday trip to it's foreign country just to hear this song? (DU'h, the internet of course :P).

Me? Currently I haven't had any videos removed from my channel by YouTube, but I fear it might happen, as most of my channel is filled to the brim with short clips of Power Rangers and Tokusatsu shows. Yes, they're just short clips but they're copyrighted and unfortunately YouTube don't even allow them either.

So, with copyrighted videos not being allowed, the only videos YouTube allow are your own self made videos, which could lead to lots of lame videos of yourself "goofing around", etc.. And I don't really have much of this stuff, and I'm not really tempted to put videos of myself on YouTube, so I think for me YouTube is pretty useless now, which is why I'm thinking about deleting all my videos and closing down my account.

And the copyright stuff isn't the only problem with YouTube. The video quality of YouTube is sometimes a bit naff and can become pixelly and blocky. Some YouTube users can be a bunch of assholes sometimes too. People posting stupid messages on people's videos, from the infamous endless bitching over Power Rangers vs Super Sentai, to people flaming each other for having a different games console ("XBox sucks" this, "f*ck PS2" that, blah blah...), and of course, the stupid racist comments.. need I go on?

Why would it be a shame?
Well yes, infact it would be a crying shame, coz 1: I have about 121 subscribers and I never knew I would be so popular, 2: I've also subscribed to some other really cool YouTube users such as Aarowned and of course, the CareBear loving girl HakkaUnico...

So.. shall I pass the whole thing off? :disappoin

Why don't you want to post funny fan made vids? That's the main point of YouTube. If you can't post Toku, Carebears, and PR then that's not too bad.You can still film your own ''Clock ups'', videos of you singing Carebears, and some other stuff. You can still have use of the account you have.

I say wait and see. If you're talking about closing your account, you may be jumping the gun here. The ONLY reason why all of the Morning Musume vids were taken off was because the lawyers of their management company sent a letter to YouTube demanding that they be removed. If they hadn't done that, YouTube probably wouldn't have touched the vids, because after all, they were drawing much-wanted hits as people would go and watch them. As long as Toei doesn't send a similar letter to YouTube, your Kabuto vids will be fine. Besides, it's not like it really makes a difference if you have backups of the vid cilps you uploaded. You can always upload them to Veoh or Google Video if they get taken down. Hell, you could upload then now anyway and have them on multiple video sites.

Er.. Yet you voted for me to quit? :sly:

I don't have any talent to film my own Clock Up, and as for singing with CareBears, my singing is too poor so, no.

Oh...you can see our votes?...

Well, If you can't find something you would like to do with it, maybe you can just get rid of it.

I say wait until you make a desicion. For example, I used to look for Ryukendo vids, and there were quite a few. Yet now, you have to look high and low for them, cause a mess of them were deleted. But Kabuto and Boukenger vids are still on Youtube. If those are taken down, then you should leave. Until then, I'll hold my vote.

If you can't find anything to do with it, then leave, but you shouldn't leave YouTube for the soul reason for not being able to find Carebears stuff and PR. You can your friends can share vids on it, do funny stuff on camera with your friends. Something other then those main 2 things.
