Should I get a PSP?

Black Ranger RX

I don't have low self esteem.
Okay.. My birthday is next month, and my parents told me that I should make my decision of what I want for my birthday as soon as possible, which I'm really finding hard to do..

And unfortunately, this year I'm being forced to come with my parents to a family camping trip. I'm really not looking forward to this because there is no way I am spending 2 weeks, sitting in a tent in a fucking campsite at all whatsoever. I don't understand why either. Last year they let me stay at home while they go off to their camping, but this year I'm having to come with them. I'm sick of having to have an endurance every year..

..so anyway, this is how I got to thinking of gatting a PSP for my birthday. I could store it with Audio and Video files of Tokusatsu, Power Rangers maybe some JPop, maybe some Anime, maybe some general talkcocksingsong.. all just to keep me (temporarily) entertained while sitting miserably in the tent. Of course this wouldn't be enough because I'm only happy when I'm at home and not in a horrible campsite..

So just a few curious things..

1) Do you need some sort of special software to import your files from you PC to your PSP, or is it just a simply case of drag and drop?

2) What about file types? There are some file types that PSP doesn't accept, and unfortunately WMV is one of them..

3) Do you need software to convert a DVD to a PSP. And when it does, does it convert it into like a file on your computer, and then you have to move it to your PSP?

Right now that's all I can think of right now..

Well first off you need a psp and 1 or 2gb memory stick cause the 32mb that they gave you sucks.a 512MB memory stick can hold 2 or 4 episode depending on the size or 1gb you can hold 8 or 9 episode once again depending on the size or 2gb that can hold size 18 or 19 once again depending on the size,or if you want to go to the extreme there is a 4GB that cost way more, heres a pic of the memory stick watch you can get at your local game store.http://www.gamesblog.it/uploads/Datel_PSP_HD_4gb.jpg

How to put videos in your psp
you need USB cable for this .

1.Now on your psp go to your USB Connection so it can connection to your psp to your PC.

2:Then go to your psp hard drive (G:) in it go to the MP_ROOT

3:now inside the hard drive you see a folder call 100MNV01

4:now take the video that you downloaded and drag it in the the 100MNV01 folder and your done.

What version of the psp I need to buy

Well theres the psp that has 32mb Memory and PSP Giga Pack That has the 1GB watch cost $250

I hope this help and have a save camping trip.

My nephew has a PSP; I've been only moderately impressed by it. The analog "stick" is rather weird, and the battery life sucks.

The video playback is a nice feature, I'll admit, but I'll probably invest in a GP2X before I invest in a PSP. (That might not have been the case before GTA: LCS came out for the PS2, but now the only PSP title I was interested in I can play with a controller and screen that doesn't drive me batshit...)

As a game console it has absolutely nothing I want. It just brings a downgraded home console experience to your hands. The DS presents a wholely new experience you can't get on the consoles.

Watching anime on the go is a good hook up tho, but that's why I'll be getting the DS hard drive.

PSP is too flimsy a device for far too much money.

Still, if you can afford it, it seems to have want you need and want, so I say go for it.

I love my PSP. I rarely game with it, I just sit in bed and watch movies and surf through livejournal.

Can't say anything about battery life... I leave it constantly plugged in so I really wouldn't know.

SentaiRider covered what you needed to do for the videos. Bigger the memory stick, the better. Lower the compression the better in your case... MP4s are the only video format it plays, all have to follow a specific name (which will automatically be done for you if you use PSP Video 9).

If you just want the PSP for the camping trip... Ah, I wouldn't get it. I love the PSP for the video function, I got it as soon as it came out. It was my companion through school... But I'd pick something I /really/ want for my birthday, not something to last me through a camping trip.

*cough* I don't think the system is flimsy... My friends still have theirs perfectly fine, and they are like monkeys. I think a few of them sold their DSs and kept their PSPs too... ;)

Yeah, I was never too partial the suit... Especially Exceed Gills, that just looked funny.

Now, the actor on the other hand...
