Shaun the Sheep is back with a Halloween special

[GhibliMornings]

Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom is set to bring some Halloween fun to fans of the lovable farm crew. It will be available for digital rental and purchase on all major platforms starting today, October 23. The Blu-ray and DVD release is scheduled for January 26, 2027, from GKIDS.

It sounds like a delightful addition to the Aardman catalog.

The Aardman style has always brought a unique charm, and Shaun the Sheep is a flawless example of their creativity. While I appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into their stop-motion animation, I sometimes feel like the charm can get a bit repetitive. The humor is delightful, and I love the visual gags, but I hope this Halloween special finds ways to mix things up a bit. I think it's fascinating how Aardman has consistently captured the essence of these characters while still keeping them fresh for new audiences. I'm definitely intrigued to see if they take any bold narrative risks with this one.
