It's Judgement Time!
After orgasming to the Shadow two parter, I had to do a video about it. It's a bit of a quickie job. But I hope people enjoy it.

Video: Power Rangers SPD - Shadow Games (21 mb)
Song: Yu Gi Oh - Shadow Games

Well, I had the idea for the video all week. I made small notes of clips I would probably want to use from the first part but it was really up to the second part wether I did the video. I mean, its one thing to want to do a video. But Im very picky about making them. I have to have specific clips or be able to work with what I got. And if I dont have what I like or need, I just wont make the video.

Anywho, I think the direction for the video is obvious. It's centered on Cruger and his raod to vengeance. Probably not my best video but it wont be my last. Please let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions, of course Im always open eared.

The song was a bit of a chore towards the end. Because it fades out. I hate songs that fade out at the end but this one was way too awesome not to use. And it fit the bill perfectly. So, I sort of glided the video to a close, though Im sure I could have done better.

I have a few other Video projects Im working on. One being a Wild Force music video which Im working on now (It would have already been done, but I've had to go through a bit of extra miles to get specific audio clips). And Im still working on the "Fighting Spirit" music video that I've been working on for months. Im just very picky about my videos. (specific ones). Sometimes I rush them out and like what I got at the end. Other times I slowly pick at them unsure of what I have or what I want.

Anywho, Enjoy.

Nice timing but the song really doesn't match that much. May I give you a suggestion Garren? Try using TrustCompany's song Closer, the lyrics really give a flare to Anubis's situation, I think.

TrustCompany - Closer
I'm closer to say but I'm too afraid
I'll shine on the surface
So leave me alone
And keep me in the shadow
I'm lost but I'm closer

Take what you want just to feel
This pain is real
Can't you see the crime that you've done
It's inside of you, it's a part of you
In you

Now life's far away
Distant and gray
It's cold on the inside
So take what you wanted from me
And keep it cause now I can see
I'm lost but I'm closer

Take what you want just to feel
This pain is real
Can't you see the crime that you've done
It's inside of you, it's a part of you
In you, in you, you, you

I waited here to long
To see what never could have been
I feel I'm joking on
The fear I'm drowning in
And I waited here too long
For you!

Take what you want just to feel
This pain is real
Can't you see the crime that you've done
It's inside of you, it's a part of you
In you
It's inside of you, it's a part of you
It's inside of you, it's a part of you

Actually that does fit pretty well. But you have to understand how I do my videos. First, I never, ever let the video dictate what song I will use. For example, I never, ever say "I want to make a video on Shadow! Now what song should I use?". For me, I always let the song dictate what I make. For Shadow Games, I was listening to the song and said "you know, this could work really well with a Shadow music video!" and I went with it and played around with it. Though I didnt take it as seriously as I probably should have.

But yes, I think it's a #1 nono to focus on the lyrics of the song when doing a Video. Because its the energy of the song that needs to be in harmony with the video. If you focus too much on matching lyrics you create a boring video. And a pretty clear cut one too.

But actually, I thought the lyrics did match well, which is why I really wanted to try it but it was mostly because I loved the sound of the music. I thought it went well with Anubis' background. Being egyptian setting and all.

But yeah, hmm *puts song on playlist* Trust Company has put out some awesome songs. I remember having an idea to do a Wild Force video to one of their songs buuut I cancelled that idea. Im going with a differant idea now.

But yeah, lyrics aside. My main goal is to entertain the viewer. If I've entertained you for 3 minutes and 30 seconds, I've done my job. I more so focus on bringing a synch of energy between video and music. More than the actual words. Music has a deeper feeling than words. (this is why I dont like Rap. Rap is nothing but words and Im more of a music fan. I hardly ever pay attention to lyrics)

I understand where your going at, and I sorta agree. But the way I see it, the lyrics to the music is just as important as the energy it brings. Lyrics and the energy of the music really has to flow with the footage you provide. I can say this though, I've seen 2 musicvideos of Anubis "Doggie" Cruger, and yours so far is the best...
