Sexy Voice and Robo

WHAT?! Ibuki in Sexy Voice and Robo?! I've gotta watch this!

*Sadly, due to univeristy hating Torrent programs; I can't watch this, until I go home. Soon.*

I saw the first episode and wasn't that impressed. There were a few funny moments with Robo, especially with him trying to get Max Robo down from the streetlights while Mikabouzu and Sexy were talking. Downloading episode 2, but I'll probably give up if it doesn't hook me, ratings seem pretty bad for the series too.

Also, what's the story with the manga? Did it just stop being published?

Ep 3s out now for those still following.

As for the manga, like i mentioned (i think i mentioned here) there was a falling out between the author and the publishing company alittle over 3 years ago. Theres been no manga since then. The publishing company is crediting it to an illness on Kuroda's part, as they tend to do in those situations, though Kuroda is still doign regular manga for different publishers.

Kuroda says he wants to continue the manga someday, preferable with a different publisher, but has never actually set anything in stone as to when that might be

Yeah, i'm surprised people even noticed him to be honest.

Its the same thing in ep 3 with the professor from Gransazer/Guyferd. He's in there for like 20 seconds.

I think he's only in there for people who want true nerd cred to spot him

Saw the first two eps, and while they draw from the manga stories, it's not really adapted well...the plots, to me, seem too obviously written to be moral dilemmas and don't hold intersest for very long...

Maybe I'm being a bit too critical because I LOOVVEE the manga; this drama doesn't really do it justice...despite the opening, which is a nice little nod...

I agree about it deviating from the manga, and i agree that the manga is vastly superior.

However I'm viewing the series as a separate entity, i realized with ep 1 that it won't be like the manga, but the series is pretty enjoyable for what it is, and the episodes do well in tying together various small aspects that are seemingly insignificant into the full story. On the plus side, at least the series will likely get the ending the manga never did. And its something to hold me over till Kuroda decides to continue it.

Yeah, seems that Kuroda-san and Shogkakun (the publisher who released the manga in Japan I believe) have a really shaky relationship with each other.

And is it just me or do these past Toku actors/actresses have a small cameo in each episode I see?

Pretty much. Like i said. they're in there so people can spot them for nerd cred XD.

Same reason why they pull out the old mecha. Spot them and win!
