[HIDE]*The Wasp is quickly building up to critical mass thanks to the irradiated growth formula that the Skrull-Hank gave to her, threatening to wipe out humans and Skrulls alike. She tries to escape, intending to take as many Skrulls with her as she can, but at the last minute, Thor creates a cyclone that disperses the energy, but it kills Wasp in the process. Thor vows to avenge her.
*The heroes and villains turn on Veranke, the Skrull Queen. Just as Wolverine is about to gut her, Norman Osborn takes her out with a headshot and orders the Thunderbolts to make certain none of the other Skrulls escape.
*Iron Man returns and tells the Avengers and anyone else who can fly to take to the skies and destroy what remains of the Skrull Armada. In space, the shattered ruins of the armada attempts to flee, but Thor and the other heroes have cut them off. Iron Man scans the armada for possible doomsday weapons the Skrulls might try to deploy and discovers something that shocks him. He fights his way through another wave of Skrull attackers and gains control of the ship he had just scanned.
*Back in Manhattan, the rest of the Skrulls are defeated and the remaining Skrull ship Iron Man and the others captured is guided down into the middle of the battlefield. The heroes and villains approach as its outer hull opens and come face to face with everyone the Skrulls have impersonated inside, including Jessica Drew, Elektra, the Invisible Woman, Hank Pym, Jarvis, several agents of both S.H.I.E.L.D. and Hydra and the most shocking of all...Hawkeye's presumed dead wife, Mockingbird. Ms. Marvel is thrilled to see Jessica is safe, but the other heroes seem wary. Jessica asks why and Ms. Marvel replies that no one knows what to think. Meanwhile, the Red Hood and the other assembled villains quietly take their leave.
*While a reunion between the heroes and the missing takes place, Jessica Jones panics and take flight back to Avengers Tower, where she proceeds to tear the place apart. Luke Cage and Ms. Marvel arrive close behind her and she tells Luke that the Skrulls have their baby.
*As Mockingbird and Hawkeye share a passionate reunion kiss, Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman return to the Baxter Building to find the Human Torch, the Thing, as well as Franklin and Valeria safe and sound. Mister Fantastic order them all out of the Baxter Building and after programming the dimensional generator into the Negative Zone to activate, sends the entire building through to seal the gate shut.
*Iron Man finds Thor and tells him that he's glad that the heroes are finally united again, but Thor tells him in no uncertain terms that they are anything but. He only came because he was needed and that he will NEVER fight by his side again. He also tells Iron Man he abhors what he's become and that he won't be the only one who'll find the blame for the Invasion to be squarely on HIS shoulders before he departs. Captain America also leaves without a word.
*As the remaining Skrulls are rounded up Kate Bishop(Hawkeye II), Wiccan and Hukling take in the devastation around them. Hulking says the Skrulls he knew would never have taken such extremes and Kate says she doesn't understand why they wanted Earth so much when they had at least a dozen other worlds to rule over. One of the Skrull prisoners reveals that that taking over the Earth was the last chance they had since all their planets have been destroyed.
*Later at the White House, The President decrees, after a conversation with an unknown individual, that Iron Man failed in his duty to protect the country and the Earth and will quickly be replaced. He further declares that S.H.I.E.L.D, is no longer viable and is being replaced as well with something more superior and modern. The scene shifts to a press conference where the unknown individual the President has chosen as Stark's successor is none other than Norman Osborn himself. Everything that fell under the S.H.I.E.L.D. banner, including the Avengers and the Initiative is now under the Thunderbolts Initiative and all of Stark technology is being replaced. Furthermore, Osborn declares that a full scale investigation will be leveled at Stark Industries and that all those deemed negligent will be held responsible.
*After the conference at Avengers Tower, Osborn is seen meeting with a Dark Illuminati type group, consisting of Norman Osborn, Doctor Doom, Loki, Emma Frost, Namor, and the Red Hood.[/HIDE]
