Ryuki vs. Faiz

I feel that if Faiz wasn't labeled as a Kamen Rider show, I think it's fine. However, being under that label made it one of the least favorites. Although, I still enjoyed it.

Delta was a badass when Ryuuzaki (aka Zero from GARO:buttrock:) had the belt. After what's-his-name got it, I was like "Awwwww......"

And that ending..... Grrrrrr...........

I haven't seen a lot of Ryuki yet. Apparently, it had more than one ending?

- Some people say the same thing about Hibiki.

- Agreed. Delta is one of the most over-hyped and underutilized Riders.

- Which one? Faiz or Ryuki?

- Kusaka's death would have been better if he at least took down one of the Orphenochs with him. I still didn't like the idea of Kiba killing him and taking over.

- Ryuki has two timelines: the main one that branches to two different endings (series and movie) and the Ryuki special. If memory serves me right, the Ryuki special also had two endings, but it didn't significantly change the story as much as the movie did with the series timeline.

Yea, which sucks cause I liked Delta's suit the best from that show. It never had a real owner. (I'm not counting what's-his-name as the main owner.)

The Faiz ending. Grrrrrrrrr......

Weird....... Is there any reason why Ryuki had so many alternate endings, compared to other Rider shows?

But Ryuki's ending didn't undo the series; in the new timeline Megumi is a member of the ORE journal staff, despite the fact that in the series she only joined as a side-effect of the Rider War, and much of the mystery behind Shirou and how he apparently died twice is due to how the events in previous timelines were bleeding into the new ones.

But even if the ending were a total reset button, I would still love it, because there's just no better way of showing how senseless and destructive and pointless the Rider War was than to show the world without Riders and the monsters created to fight them.

I'd say that the whole series lead up to the ending in which a much happier world was created. That, I think is a good idea.

But, wasn't all that character development thrown out the window as well? Like, Ren spent the whole series developing to become a much more caring person. Did he lose all that?

- If there was only one thing I can complain about Faiz, it's the "hot potato" treatment for the belts. Kusaka is actually more Kaixa than Takumi is Faiz because of this. Additionally, the Rider designs from 555 are some of the best and original that I've seen, unlike Den-O's (see thread on suits that never won you over).

- No comment on this one.

- I don't know. From my understanding, the Ryuki special is only there to introduce Verde, the only Rider to never appear in the main series or the movie. Ignoring the Ryuki specials, Ryuki and Blade both offered alternative endings for the series, though Ryuki is focused on the ending itself while Blade is focused on the aftermath.

I'm a Raia fan (more reason to hate Verde), but ignoring that fact, it's bothersome how Verde is treated simply as a "special" Rider. He is not incorporated into main series or the movie, and the concept of the 13 Riders is not represented at all. Unless, of course, you make an exception and treat Alternative as the 13th Rider.

Kusaka was the best damn thing to come out of 555:buttrock:

I think I remembered from watching the alternate endings of Ryuki is that they had a poll for viewers on which one they preferred. I faceplamed from that. I was like "Really, Toei?"

Its hard to say, we only see the new timeline for a few minutes, but as I reall, much of his bitterness and such was due to Shirou putting his fiance in a coma and forcing him into the Rider War. We see flashbacks of him from before that event, and he seemed a pretty happy, if reserved guy, so its hard to say. Plus, with the way time travel and the timelines work in Ryuki, there is both the influence from one timeline onto the next, and the fact that certain things happen no matter how much Shirou tried otherwise, like Shinji getting involved in the Rider War and mucking things up. I'd imagine that in the new timeline Shinji and Ren would find some other reason to run into one another and become friends, but that is admittedly speculation on my part.

Neither had a good ending... no argument there. But Ryuki *had* an ending.

Sailor Moon ending.

The movie timeline clashes with series by the reason of the whole Rider War. The movie states that it was Shinji who was (partially) responsible for what happened to Yui, while no such event happened in the series itself. Granted, Shiro could have Time Vented into the past and fix that, but if he could, why wouldn't he stop Yui from... doing what she did? He either couldn't travel back that far, or no matter what he did the outcome was always the same... omg.
