Liberal arts? That's essentially just the "Hey, take this class if you wanna get federal assistance and easy credits" class, right? Had no idea that business had liberal/fine arts as prerequisites. God, I need to a learn a lot about college. XD;

Why dont you just sign up and find out, dude? I know you are not sure what you wanna do but there are lots that dont know or change while they are in college. You should just jump in a try something.

I think everyone has some sort of liberal arts or fine arts prerequisite. And I say prerequisite as in "required class so you can move on with your life," it's not a class that's needed for another. I should've worded that better. But yeah, I don't have to take any English, history, or Calculus because of AP...wooooot. That saved my butt. So the things I have to get out of the way are sociology, music and certain seminars, and then I move on to bigger and better things.

Liberal arts is basically general studies. So yeah. They even have their own honors section, which is basically for the select few students who are at the top of taking classes that mean nothing.

EDIT: So Yas...your time spent at State had some good in it too. XD Oh lord, if I had to take physics and Calculus along with my major-related classes... :O

I probably would have changed majors if I came straight here from high school. Im glad I had no clue what I was doing and went to State. I knew I wanted to go to another school, but didnt know till my second year there. But I guess it all worked out. Now I just have to see if I wanna go directly to Grad school after this or wait a few years and work in the field a bit.

And what kinds of classes are we talkin about when you say "Liberal ARts"?

Trust me, I want, I've wanted to for quite a while, but money. As it stands, once I get out of debit, I'll probably only be able to afford a community college to start off with. Which won't be too bad, I suppose I could go to a different school once I save more money.

Yeah, I agree...there's always somewhere to get started. :D

How'd you do in high school Jorge? Have you tried getting federal financial aid?

I'm sure you'll be fine either way. My cousin who went to Berkeley got a job with a company he interned for...and they're paying for his grad school in a couple years. You could try that.

Liberal arts, as in...like, there was a Mexican Catholicism class I almost got signed up for because there was nothing left (I ended up taking honors Sociology instead because we pulled some strings). Classes like that.

Oh, I didnt know, or it just slipped my mind. Im very scatter-brained sometimes.

Does Texas have any kind of state-wide scholarship that is given to students with a certain GPA? cuz over here, there is HOPE Scholarship that is given to any high school graduate with a 3.0 or higher. And as long as you keep that, they pay for you in full. I havent had HOPE since my first year at Tech. But there is a secondary one called Pell Grant that pays for most of it. I took out a loan to pay for the rest, which isnt the best idea, but I just didnt have enough.

@Kev: So, its basically like social science or humanities electives, right? We have those here, like sociology, psychology, crap like that. I freakin had to take psychology twice cuz the one at State didnt transfer over.

Until I had to drop out, I was doing fairly well in high school, nowhere near as good as you, but above average in a good number of classes. And I ended up getting my G.E.D. over the course of three months or so in 2005.

Lots of family junk happened between then and the start of the year that made it so I had to work to just support my mother and stuff, but since my brother's moved in and gotten a fairly good job, I'm actually able to save a bit for college while I pay off my debts.

Not sure, I'll probably look it up later on, it sounds like a really good program. I've heard of the Pell Grant before, that would be the most realistic choice for me if I can get one, mostly since I could pay off the difference myself.

But yeah, you guys are all awesome, thanks for the support. :D

I have a lot of respect for that. When I think about it I dunno if I'd be strong enough to just work to support my family.

But yeah, that's good, keep your high school credentials and apply...there are good schools in Texas that you can definitely get into. Just make sure you get that government aid, which, considering your situation (though I don't know the details) I'm sure you'll be able to get.

yea they Dont have the Hope thing in Texas,
wish they did though,
but im not there anymore
You used to live in Texas too? Did you mention this before? I think I remember it faintly. XD
