Anyone see this flick? It's from Guy Ritchie.... the man behind "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" one of my favorite all time films.
So, this afternoon me and the folk I affectionately refer to as "Team India" sat down and were thoroughly confused the entire movie.
It starts off as a gangster, gambler, revenge, con movie.
And just as you're waiting for the big reveal in a dizzying series of flashbacks, it never comes. This happens twice.
By the end of it, it ends up being a movie about how we defeat our own inner ego and that I think the whole story is taking place within the minds of three me in solitary confinement. Traveling in each others minds as they attempt to free themselves from their own egos.
After it was over, I thoroughly hated the film, but the after conversation was interesting. Full of the usual introspective philosophy that I eat up like strawberry shortcake.

Overall I feel the amount of torture it puts you through trying to figure the movie out wasn't well constructed, but the end result and what it makes me think about does have some value.... I don't know... I kinda wanna watch this with commentary.
