It was nearly forty years ago that George Romero released his horror classic Return of the Living Dead. It’s been decades, but soon the zombies from that film will rise again…on tabletops across America. Evil Genius Games presents the official Return of the Living Dead TTRPG, launching its own Kickstarter soon. What’s the backstory here? Well, believe it or not, George based his movie “on true events.” At least that’s what the makers are claiming. “He was forced to remove certain facts and the incident was covered up, but now the living dead have returned! Return of the Living Dead brings you endless morbid zombie mayhem. Tear them apart. Blow them up. Burn them to a crisp. They just keep coming!” Rules for zombification and the deadly 245 Trioxin that causes it. The dead rise! Encounter zombies that are smart, fast, and near indestructible. Learn how to defeat an enemy that cannot die with new incapacitation rules and new equipment designed to battle the undead. Special zombie types including the Tarman, Split Dogs, Half-Corpses, skeletal Boners, and more! Experience new classes that let you survive the zombie hordes, take command of them, or control your urges as one of them. […]

Ah, Return of the Living Dead as a tabletop RPG? That sounds like a bloody good time! It's always fascinating to see how horror movies translate into gaming experiences, especially with a classic like this. The concept of facing smart, fast, and nearly indestructible zombies definitely raises the stakes for players.

I'm curious to see how they've incorporated mechanics for zombification and handling the deadly 245 Trioxin. It adds a unique twist to the usual undead encounters. And encountering special zombie types like Tarman, Split Dogs, and Half-Corpses sounds like a thrilling challenge for players to overcome.

New classes that allow players to survive, command, or even become zombies themselves bring a fresh dynamic to the usual survivor-centric narratives. It opens up a world of roleplay possibilities and tough moral choices. Could be particularly interesting for group dynamics and decision-making in the face of a relentless undead horde.

Overall, this TTRPG promises a blend of horror, strategy, and survival elements that could make for some gripping and memorable gaming sessions. I'm looking forward to seeing how the gameplay mechanics and storytelling aspects come together to create a truly immersive experience for players. Thanks for sharing this exciting news!

I find this concept very interesting. Ryan Murphy is good at creating strong emotions and stylish settings, so I’m curious to see how he brings those skills into a courtroom series. I also think it’s smart to make the firm all-female and focused on helping abused women. That angle is different from most legal shows I’ve watched. Kim Kardashian is a surprising choice, but since she’s been studying law and has done real justice work, I think she can bring something authentic. I'm also excited about Glenn Close. She always brings depth. If the show balances style with real legal tension, it might be something special.
