Quick question about dating

Yeah, that'll work :rolleyes2:

Are we speaking from past experience there, RF?

Me? I still don't have a girlfriend but I guess the best way to get one would be to make friends with her first. I wouldn't imagine a girl would want to be with a boy who she doesn't even know, just because he loves her..

So, how to make friends with her? Gee, that's a difficult one..

Uh no, girls don't like that. It gives us females the creeps if we see the guy every place we're at.

As for the original post. Both methods work fine but it depends on the person asking and the person being asked. I've had guys ask me both ways - fellow classmates in college, co-workers and complete strangers. I never dated classmates in college or co-workers, it made it awkward if the date didn't turn out well. The one time I broke my rule and did date a co-worker, it didn't turn out so well after a month of dating. As for strangers, I always turned them down regardless of how cute they were simply because I didn't know them - the only exception I ever made was for the guy that ended up to be my husband but that was a risky chance I made and it turned out pretty well despite the fact he drives me insane 99.99999999999% of the time.

As I said before, it really does depend on the two people involved. Ask her out on a date and if she says yes that's great, if not then try again at a later date once you get to know her better.

I'm not too sure if that sort of thing would work especially considering the girl concerned may end up placing a restraining order on our friend here if he followed your advice, and we wouldn't want that now, would we?:anime:

On a more serious note, there's been a couple of times I've been in relationships with females who've started out as friends and even though it ended in the girls concerned breaking up with me [especially with my ex from Singapore], I still think it's better to start out as friends with a girl that you like as you get to know their likes, dislikes and so on...
