PSP Battery issue

Alright this morning my PSP and the battery just went up and broke down, it doesn't turn on unless its plugged in (Using the dual USB charger which has always worked) and when I look at the battery information it says:

Charge level is 0%
Hours left -
Power source external
Battery status Charge Complete

The orange charging light still comes on as well

I've used google to find any fix for it and I've found many fixes ranging from using a paper clip on the battery to reset the memory, buying a new battery, updating the firmware (like hell), or even downgrading the firmware.

I haven't tried putting my battery in my PSP or using another battery on my PSP so I'm not sure if the problem lies with the battery or the PSP itself. I'm thinking the PSP's hardware part that charges the battery is busted and I can still charge my battery with a seperate battery charger

So does anyone have any solution? thoughts? opinion?

It sounds like it might be the connection points. You said you can charge it in a separate charger, but the charged battery won't work?

If possible I'd try testing another battery on your PSP, and that battery on another PSP and see if either option works, that would at least narrow down the issue. .

nothing new anyone here could add to the solution. Why wouldnt you update your firmware though? Unless you got yours hacked. (but even then, there are custom firmware updates for hacked psps. Mines completely updated, for example.)

Anywho, keep searchin the net.

Just tried it, my battery doesn't work nor charge on another PSP but another battery works and charges on mine. Looks like my battery has died. I'm probably going to have to buy another but any possible fixes for this one? I had a special battery that came with the old PSP hard drives that had triple the average battery life.

I'm at 5.5 Gen D, the latest homebrew firmware

No real repairs for the battery that I know. which sucks. I wish they made those batteries available on their own.
