Nope, online is free on the PS3. all you have to do is create an account. But, of course, extra levels and old school games do have price. But, to play games that you have already bought online is free.

Oh, the online is free? Cool beans. I'm thinking of picking a PS3 up when I get that stimulus check... decisions, decisions.

For me, I use the wireless connection. But I believe there is an ethernet slot for those without.
