[PROTOTYPE] - Impressions/Talk-Up/Whatever

SO I sat down with the game for about an hour, and so far I'm impressed. I spent most of the year following the development of this and inFAMOUS. I had a good idea what to expect going into it, and I got pretty much exactly what I wanted it to be. An excellent super powered free roam, in a (somewhat) destructible city (What do you expect from the people who brought us Hulk: Ultimate Destruction?) The powers are fairly unique, and the ability to assimilate any character in the game makes for some interesting stealth based game play. I found it interesting that if I went into a military encampment disguised as a fairly hot civilian I can still be shot on sight. The game feels very unique, yet the controls don't that that long to get used to. But I can't feel like I've done something very similar to this just last week, in inFAMOUS.

Both games are pretty similar in their free roam mechanics. Both games are super power themed. Both games give you the option to play as an antihero... though in prototypes case it's pretty much the only way. While inFAMOUS feels more like a summer comic mini series, [Prototype] feels more like the summer action blockbuster, with a decent story, but more special effects. I think you could easily get away with getting just one and be happy. Which one you get, depends more on what you're looking for, inFAMOUS has more of a logn range approach to dealing with your problems, while [Prototype] has an in your face.. if i hadn't just cut it off, feel. But enough comparison, who else picked the game up?

I'm planning on picking this one up when I get my check, and to also make sure to save some money for Ghostbusters. I've been following the development of Prototype for a while and if I had the PS3, I would love get this along with inFamous.

Probably will be getting it when I see a good deal somewhere.
Finished Infamous yesterday, good game, I can see why people compare the two but it does look like they're different, where Infamous is more like a third person shooter and Prototype is more of a hack and slash. I just hope it's not another Assassin's Creed.

It'd be a lot better if the graphice were inFamous level, and the stupid hint bubbles weren't so frickin stupid.
"Throwing a trash can at an enemy can damage them."
Thank god I knew that.
"If you stealth kill an enemy, they won't know you killed them."
Holy **** this chages everything!

LOL!

I just got home from work. I plan on popping in this bad boy right now!! >.< :buttrock:

I cant wait!

I just cleared the point in the story where Alex gains his last two (story based) forms, and I'm loving every minute of it. It's nt really a spoiler since you get one of them at the very beginning before the flashbacks start, but his saw blade (aka big ass sword arm) is pretty much capable of tearing through APCs and Tanks like nothing, combined with the full body shielding and Alex pretty much just became unstoppable.
