PRE: Dead?

Due to an unfixable server malfunction, all data on PRE has been lost. PRE no longer exists. No downloads, no gallery, nothing. Its all gone. PRE is now officially dead.

Maybe its for the best. I don't know. PRE has been through alot. No doubt. And even through the lows and highs, its been a hell of a run. PRE's awesome members, and incredible mods/admins have made me proud and PRE one hell of a place to be. But do not fret. Something is rising in its place. And will not be PR or Sentai based.

No, PRE will not be returning. Not now, not 3 months from now, and likely not even a year from now. PRE is dead. And Power Rangers itself I feel is on its deathbed. I would be suprised to see it go another 2 years beyond Operation Overdrive. Even the fandom overall seems uniterested and Disneys lack of normal promotion of it and move to a more exclusive and limited channel also limits the the number of those that can watch it. Blame it on Bruce or whoever, but maybe its the fact that maybe PR has run its course. However I will continue to hold on to the domain name regardless and will not sell it or let it run out in 2008 when its expected to. I will renew it.

So what now? Watch this area. Within a few days a new site will rise in PRE's place. But this time it will be a radical change from what PRE was or used to be. PRE is now dead. And with it, so is the Mesogog name. There will be no more Power Rangers. No more Sentai. No more Mesogog. And no more Power Ranger Empire.

Ogre, RSW, Masked Rider...plan on being a large part of the new website. Mods and admins, pm me on yahoo or msn and I will get back to you.

A few quick answers to some questions:

1. When the new site opens, those with Premium Memberships must pm me. Their info will be verified and Premium Member status reinstated on the new site. No premium memberships will be lost, but instead carried over to the new site.

2. Will it deal with Power Rangers? No. At least not specifically. Part of the reason being that interest in Power Rangers appears to be dying. Some may argue that. And thats fine. But not even the fandom really seems to care about it or the new seasons much anymore. As well, Disneys move of it to their own channel, limiting viewers, overall lack of promotion or minimal promotion from each season to the next, etc etc. only helps put the nail in the coffin. Anyone with business mgmt. experience (or half a brain) see's that what Disney is doing is a slow kill. It's day's are no doubt numbered and interest in each season is getting very low even/especially amongst the fandom.. Then again should anyone be suprised? The damn show has went on for a very long time and people should be proud of that fact.

3. The name of the new site is: Club Showdown and more info about it will be revealed soon.

4. Will PRE ever return? At this time its highly unlikely.

5. Was this planned? NO! In fact I was working on the forums when the site went down. What happened was beyond mine or the webhosts control. It was unexpected and even with a somewhat recent backup of the forums, is almost entirely unrecoverable. PRE is really gone.

6. There are other Power Ranger related websites out there. However they and their overall quality appear to be dwindling. The good news is now they can deal with the leechers that plagued PRE and watch the overall quality of their sites dwindle even more.

I do know for a fact that ForeverRed, ForeverBlue and Dogbot were part of the forums cause they were the admin/mods.

Is it me or does that admin seem cyncial as hell as well as being too damn stuck up for his own good? I hate when people say that something is dying just because they don't happen to like it at the moment.

Its sad though, I've benn there for like, 2 years, and its been #1 in my favorites list for years(and as nick mentioned, eventually becoming a mod). He tried to be fair with the leechers, where in this case, has been like, 3/4 of the members regestering, not posting in the forum at all, having them post at least 25 posts to access the DLs.

So due to the fact that PRE is somehow gone by the server issue, mine as well start over with another theme, and it dose makes sence why. Mes did say that for some reason if PRE dose get screwed over, PRE will morph into another site.

So RIP PRE.

It's sad to see the site go.

On the other hand, a simple "Thanks for everything, and check out the new site when it opens!" would have been better than a JABR-worthy rant on how Power Rangers is "dying."
