My review on the game:
I wasn't too excited about the game at all when I first got it. But I was convinced on playing it, since it is after all a SUPER LEGENDS fiesta of old school power rangers...
It was a surprise when I saw that it was going to have a slightly different story than the Console ones, as well as 16 characters, but it wasn't a shock. Just a surprise.
Actually playing it though, the graphics were average for a Disney game, but what really made me happy was the detail work. They really made each Ranger from each Series actually resemble that series' ranger. Even the small details like the weapons were tailored for that show, unless the show didn't feature the playable character with a sword, then the sword was primarily based on another characer in that series with a sword. Same goes for the guns.
The fighting moves were simple and very brawler-esque which was brilliantly simple and yet still moderately balanced out so you'd have to use both fists and sword.
The Flying Shooter Mode plain sucked. At first it was alot like the old school shooters, but then it got really boring and too easy to win. Unless you wanted to not get hit by anything. Then it just became a stressful annoyance that broke the story and gameplay for no honest reason.
But again, at least they kept to the rangers and didn't make all the air-vehicles the same, but rather tailored them for that individual ranger(for the level)
The Megazord battle was the easiest to master but the hardest to learn. You have to be able to time yourself with the shields and shoot at the right spots for the monster, but after the first time, it's practically a walk in the park.
The Story was very good, but the dialog was the normal cheesy power ranger story telling. Over all, the concept of a Hall in which the energies of Rangers reside is mystical for a Power Ranger fan. Not to mention that you really only want to beat the game to find out who that mysterious Gaurdian of the Hall is.
The Favorite Moments:
The Power Poses!
Hold R and do a "hit the button as it shows" type deal, and you perform a cool pose routine that ends with the usual ranger color smoke blast.
The FireWorks!
Just like the Show and one of the things alot of people love to mock, when you attack an enemy(fists and Kicks) sparks start to fly everywhere. Good times.
The Entire Ninja Storm Era!
Finally, this is where you get to learn how to Dash and Double Jump. It's also roughly the time where you should have racked up enough points to get alot of the good moves and by the time you finish, you should also have the Samurai Ranger Call. Which is my favorite so far.
The NOT SO FAVORITE moments...
The Space Shooter Type moments that were OH SO boring.
The fact that you die way too fast if you dont watch out, this is NOT a button Masher, it's actually a well timed SLOW PAINFUL DEATH. Your just trying to make sure you can get the hits in first, because if enough enemies mass your character and they ARNT stacked on top of each other, it's hard to get all of them. You end up getting hit a good amount of times which lead to losing many many red ranger heads.
My Personal Score? 6/10.
Great for Power Ranger Fans.
Good for Toku Fans
Okay for Children
Poop for Gamers
I say it's a perfect example of a Seven Day Used Game Tryout
