Power Rangers - Re-watching the Crappy Age

So I finished re-watching OO. The cast was always enjoyable at least. They're not great, but they were good enough. Spencer being the best, the wisdom from this guy just pops off the screen, you can almost touch it.

Where does everyone here stand with Tyzonne? Because I know throughout the years I've heard bashing towards him, but I still think he had a decent actor and had an alright character. Plus I can't help but feel proud of the guy, because the way he kept popping up throughout series time and time again, (first time being in DT, then SPD) It just told me he really wanted to be a ranger. RangerCrew should definitely try to get an interview with him.

This series had soooo much potential, mainly in the traveling aspect. That's the one thing they had over Boukenger, we're so diverse as a country so we can go wherever, whereas in Japan they travel throughout Japan. BUT the adventures in Boukenger were on a waaaay bigger scale compared to OO.

They were generous with Will's screentime btw, didn't realize that until now. His fights were the best, and he had a lot of 1 on 1's or 1 on plenty. This guy loved being creative with his tracker also. It was all about thug life once it came time to morph.

Too bad this show was just clearly a shadow of Power Rangers' former self...it just looked to obvious that it was on a budget a lot of the time. Mack's secret was and still is nice, but still a small diamond in the rough.

I will never get why people drool all over RPM. It was the worst of things like Terminator, Mad Max, and the generic post-apoc story lines. The ham-fisting they did to explain the faces and eyes on the mecha was just awful. There were a couple good stories during RPM, but over all it was trash.

It was things like that, that made it such a joke to me.

Another random thought, this time on the topic of needless changes. Why did they need to change the morphing code to 1-2-3, in MysticForce. Something so small yet so dumb, a morphing code should never be so simple on top of that magician's are partly about secrecy and difficulty. Why was it a problem to keep it 1-0-6. Even though it would be a transfer, it would give the illusion of a drop of creativity.

The wire-fu is in full effect for this show also.

Not really a fan of necro-ing a thread; but specifically about RPM the thing I liked about it was that the series wasn't that bad. I mean, I don't know if you watched Go-Onger (Sentai) but it was what RPM came from, and Go-Onger was VERY child friendly, RPM actually had a decent story--the "twist" wasn't that bad (Being the creator of Vengex and the
Power Rangers being the same person
)

really enticed me. As for the series being "crap" from what some people say. I thought it was overall more mature than some of the other ones that came out; the storyline wasn't terrible.

And as for Quark--he said that MMPR Season 3 went downhill. I would agree. I mean overall the American adaptations of Power Rangers seem to have a good chronology, and good continuity in comparison with the Sentai counterparts; but when you look at MMPR as a whole. Zyuranger wasn't bad, the difference between MMPR Season 1/2 and Zyuranger was that Zyuranger had a bit better morals to be learned, and their characters seemed to be better suited. They weren't just "chosen" out of thin air--they were resurrected, essentially. Then they took the Dairanger zords, and the Dairanger white ranger instead of giving them all new suits, or just making a new series (I mean Alien Rangers was alright--but that could have been much better).

As for the "crappy" age of power rangers, I don't know WHY so many people have problems with RPM; look passed the graphics and it's generic plot; the character development is great, the suits actually looked great overall worked well as a team. Anyway, not to necro a thread that's dying but I thought this needed some attention.

rpm is nowhere near as bad as jungle fury, samurai, or hell.....even operation overdrive! hell rpm and dino thunder are both the best disney made power rangers season period!

Operation Overdrive had some of the most annoying, self-centered, a-hole characters that I actually was happy when they no longer had Powers during Once a Ranger

I've been watching Zeo on netflix, and It's not that bad. I hate the fact that I know Billy will leave and not be the gold ranger. Him not being the Gold Ranger was one big **** YOU to his character.
