Pics from my stay in Japan

I've wanted to go to Japan for years, and an acquaintance of mine just got back and was talking about it. By the end of the story myself, two friends, and said acquaintance were planning on going next summer. Here's to hoping plans don't change!

How much Japanese do I have to know when I go over?

At least know the basics. Also, you don't have to say "Nihon" you can say "Japan." People usually know what you're talking about.

http://www.sf.airnet.ne.jp/~ts/japanese/index.html That site is good for tutorials and etc. I'm sure you can find better (even buy a handbook and dictionary if you need it.)

Be sure to know Kanji. It's EVERYWHERE. I once got lost because I forgot the name of our hotel (I'm the only Japanese speaker in the entire family) because I forgot 2 or 3 symbols.

Maybe you can go to an oden or ramen shop without seeing kanji, but to navigate places like Shinjuku, you will need to learn (A LOT.) There was another place we got lost at as well...lol....

Oh, well you should be able to learn some. I'm just a lazy dick who hates doing work, so chances of me learning anymore kanji is slim-to-none XD
