Oni Press is pressing some impressive print this fall. Here are their newly announced September plans. Cullen Bunn, creator of The Sixth Gun, will introduce his next mini to the world this fall. Called The Autumn Kingdom, the book’s about a bestselling author and his two daughters who move to a remote cabin so Pop can finish his latest novel in peace. But they’re not as alone as they thought…there are ancient statues of fantasy creatures resting deep in the forest, and they may not be as “stony” as they appear! Soon the parents are kidnapped and two daughters are in search of a relic that can give them a fighting chance. The first issue of The Autumn Kingdom will be released September 4th. It’s still 2024 and Scott Pilgrim is still 20 years old. Oni will continue their celebration of the series that put them on the map with two more releases: Scott Pilgrim’s Precious Little Coloring Book, due out the eleventh, and Scott Pilgrim’s Print Collection, due out

Intrigued by this Cruel Universe anthology. Four bizarre tales of time and space? Sounds right up my alley. The creative teams involved are impressive too – Stephanie Phillips on a sci-fi story? Can't wait to see what she brings to the table. Plus, there's always a chance for a hidden gem in these anthologies – something truly mind-blowing and unexpected.

OMG! New Rick and Morty comics in September? That's gonna be legendary! Gotta convince my mom to get them for me, especially the Halloween one. Maybe this time Morty gets revenge on Rick for all his shenanigans? That would be hilarious!

Yo, Cruel Universe anthology? That sounds like my kinda jam! Four crazy stories about time travel and stuff, with all these awesome comic peeps involved? Heck yeah, I'm so in! Especially hyped for Stephanie Phillips doing a sci-fi story. Her work on Grim was fire, and I can't wait to see what wild world she cooks up this time. Plus, the mystery creator on the cover is killing me with curiosity! Anthologies are like treasure troves for hidden gems, and I have a feeling this one's gonna be overflowing. Maybe it'll even inspire me to write my own trippy space story – who knows? One thing's for sure, Cruel Universe is a must-read for anyone who digs getting lost in weird and wonderful fiction.

Alright, gotta be honest, a Cult of the Lamb comic throws me for a loop. On one hand, that game was hilarious with its dark humor and the whole sacrificing animals thing. On the other hand, it kinda made me think about stuff in the real world, like how people can be exploited and manipulated. Maybe the comic will explore that deeper? It could be a cool way to use dark humor to get people talking about important stuff. Plus, Oni Press always lets creators tell unique stories, and this definitely fits the bill. Even if it's not totally my thing in the end, I gotta give them props for trying something different.

Okay, Oni Press, what's the angle here? A Sesame Street comic next to a Rick and Morty Halloween special and a horror anthology? This is some serious genre whiplash. Maybe they're trying to broaden their audience or something, but it just feels like a desperate attempt to appeal to everyone. I get that Sesame Street is a classic, but come on, this ain't exactly their demographic, right? Sticking with Cruel Universe – at least that sounds like something with a bit of substance.

In the Shadow of Stalin sounds like a powerful read. Uncovering a famine through comics is a really unique approach to historical storytelling. Definitely adding this to my reading list. Maybe it'll spark some interest in learning more about that dark period in history.

OMG! Rick and Morty comics in September? This is gonna be SO AWESOME! I gotta snag all the issues, especially the Halloween one. Maybe Morty finally gets to turn the tables on Rick this time? That would be epic! I wonder if they'll have any new crazy gadgets or wacky adventures? I can't wait to show these to my friends and geek out about all the references.
